Now, as a suggestion from Randy, a fractal contest is upon you. You will have one week to create a fractalistic masterwork for me to judge. I'll crown a winner, do some honorable mentions, and all that jazz. There will be no themes or constraints - any fractal program, any scripts, anything. This contest is the canvas, your program the paint.

Now, let the fractacularness begin!

the flash animation I posted was mostly fractal. both rotating circles were made in apophysis. The background is also striaght out of apophysis. Although THAT entire composition wasn't straight out of apophysis (i wasn't making it for a fractal competition), You CAN animate in apophysis with scripts. Put together an animated .gif , its still a fractal, I will show you an example of one I did a few days ago

if it wasn't for the background (the eye) this would be completely fractal.

I'd assume this could be a dark nebula? Lo, this is agreat one. Love the colors outside the darkness.

I like the gradient, but I don't really like how your eye is drawn. . .everywhere. . . .

Love the symmetry and the contrast in the gradient is pretty good.

Hmmm. . .this is a fairly average flame. Nothing else to say really.

TSL:

I like the gradient, but. . .this is a pretty cookie-cutter flame. Doesn't really have much of a 'wow' aspect to it.

Kirby:

It's vewy pwetty. . .I like it. Neat mandelbrot, really.
