Now, as a suggestion from Randy, a fractal contest is upon you. You will have one week to create a fractalistic masterwork for me to judge. I'll crown a winner, do some honorable mentions, and all that jazz. There will be no themes or constraints - any fractal program, any scripts, anything. This contest is the canvas, your program the paint.

Now, let the fractacularness begin!

The summer holidays have not yet started so I'm ashamed to ssay I have not yet made any meaningful progress on Apophysis so below is my newbie attempt (sorry alt <shuffles feet&gt

Hmm. There are many different options to download. What do I download? The windows version, the beta version or all the separate links after that?

The windows version, 2.0.2. It's the most reliable version.

Nice, pixie. Though I recommend rendering it in a bit higher quality. Go to presets and select '1024x768 very high quality PNG.' it'll look crystal clear

I do mine at standard 1024x768 High Quality PNG. Much quicker while maintaining quality.

Best tutorials are experimenting. Just press everything 10-15 times and you'll get the hang of it.

How long does making a fractal usually take?
I don't think I'm made for this, it'll be clumsy.
Can I just use one of the randoms?
I suck at editing...

So do I. Go to the editor and move the triangles around a bit. Get a good look. Remember, you can move the points around as well. Another tool is mutation. Have it edit the image for you ; ).
