Yes indeed. I'm not sure if someone has already suggested this but I am. Let's say someone is getting on your nerves, being mean or spamming. Wouldn't it be a good idea if you had an Ignore option on your account. It would stop you from seeing their posts. That way if someone irritates you, you can just click the Ignore button instead of potentially getting into a fight with them.

Not a very good idea. What if you have a user blocked, but they say something very important, and contributing to the site. But because you chose to block them, you don't see it. Or what if, a person you have blocked/ignored says something, but because you don't see it you repeat it. And this would have the same problem with threads. It just throws everything off, and discussions would get choppy. If someone is flaming you, flag it and just ignore them. As in don't respond. Or if they are really bugging you close your comments. It's not that big of a deal. You have the power to control yourself.
It would be useful. Someone else said that they might say something important, but I doubt that if someone is flaming you or spamming your profile they're going to say something you really need to see. You could just unblock them after awhile anyway, that's what I do on YouTube and such.
It wouldn't be a good idea on your profile since you can already delete their comments. Also just beacuse you can't see their comments doesn't that other people on your profile can't and I don't think you want those siting on your profile.
@ Cholokid: I think it's a good idea because most people don't say really important things on this site, and even if some did, do you really think that the person being rude, breaking site rules, spamming, etc. etc. would be the one to say something important? I mean, I understand that some people might, but the rulebreaker? The curser? The spammer? I just don't think they would have anything mature enough to be important to say. @Agent_AASAnd yeah, you can just ignore them, but I think it would be easier if you had an Ignore Button. That way, you won't get into a fight because if they're saying something on your thread, it's kinda hard to ignore. @firetail. Sorry man. I didn't know, but to be honest, just about every thread you see is similar to another thread. @Bug_Virus_Of_Olympus(nice name btw): Really, you shouldn't be arguing in the first place. Second of all, most people would use the Ignore Button(Well,the way I see it anyway)so they don't see Spamming, Cursing, or just plain being mean or rude. You see what I'm saying here? But if you are arguing(coughs) and the other person stops, well just consider that you annoyed someone enough to get them to ignore you. Oh and just so you all know, I created this thread in honor of VYannabe. He really had his moment of Ultimate Spamming yesterday. Not that I like him at all, but with people like him at the site(granted, not very many, but still), I think an Ignore Button is a good idea.
Well, (and I know this is lame) but arguing isn't very nice, and you're kinda supposed to keep it lighthearted and...well, nice(I really need to expand my vocabulary)
