Okay, I want to ask this... why is rap music so popular? I am a personal death-metal fan, but for good reason. I've played some of the death metal songs on guitar hero and rock band, and shit they're hard! even the vocals! Death-metal songs show a band's talent to hit a large number of notes in succession and make it sound...good? Well? I'm not sure how the grammar goes there...anyway
Rap Music is...horrible... to me. and I dont see how people can like it. Here's rap music in a nut shell (my description) Talking, with a beat. No musical talent No entertainment value And why is it always about hurting people and peddling drugs?
Now, please, dont flame me, and dont be a troll. place a reasonable argument, and i will happily reply.
I really doubt you know what death metal is since there's only been one death metal song on Guitar Hero (or Rock Band). You're probably just another poser who thinks Lamb of God are death metal.
Talking, with a beat.
No. My brain isn't fully functioning right now so here's what the online dictionary said "Rapping is the rhythmic spoken delivery of rhymes, wordplay, and poetry." Much more than just "talking".
No musical talent
You don't think it takes musical talent to put together a rap song? It probably doesn't for rappers today like Lil Wayne who just have a producer make a beat and then throw some autotune on so they make some money. Tell me that this doesn't take talent : The Roots - Proceed..... Yes, those are real instruments.
No entertainment value
This is just your personal opinion. I'm entertained by it, and obviously others are too.
And why is it always about hurting people and peddling drugs?
Yes, some rap is about killing people and drugs. Just like some rock and metal and plenty of other genres are also about killing people and drugs. The majority of rap/hip-hop (especially old school) has NOTHING to do with those things.
A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Fatlip, Busdriver, Wu-Tang Clan, Geto Boys.
Those are 6 that don't sing about it. I'll post more if necessary.
I am a fan of rap. It isn't that bad. My uncle always used to tell me "Rap is Crap." I wouldn't listen to him though. My favorite band is Cannibal Corpse. That is a death metal band. Go to youtube and type in Cannibal Corpse, they're as close as you can get to Death Metal Another good band for death metal is Nile
Back to topic XD
Rap is ok, but most songs are about gettin' with women, drugs, or gang violence.
Rap is absolutely awful. Some old rap is a little more decent though. Old rap, like Biggie, was songs about the rappers' troubled childhoods. New rap like Lil Wayne is terrible. But, overall, rap is terrible.
Rap is a good concept, and some artists express their feelings into good tunes (Eminem,Kanye West, etc.),while some just sing virtually the same song every time (Lil Wayne,Young Jeezy,50 Cent,etc.).
Most of the mainstream stuff is just autotune crap, but some of the lesser-known stuff is good.
And Lamb of God is groove metal, I'm pretty sure.
Opeth is the only death metal band I consistently listen to. I really like their clean stuff, like the songs from D.amnation, but I'll listen to some of their death metal stuff - the Lotus Eater is a good song, and I there are some great songs on Orchid too.
i only listen to it when im upset it helps me cool down
Lol wow. If I listened to like Lil Wayne or something when I'm upset I'd like tear someones head off just for fun. Wow, hate that guy so much. I usually just write some depressing poetry, feel sorry for myself, and post a status on Facebook with lots of "...'s" at the end. Then I'm good, lol.
yea but if you had to hear all the stupid things that my family plays and see all the stupid things that they do , then lil wayne would sound really good ... lol
There was some confusion. When i say "death metal", i really mean like Judas priest, Marilyn Manson, and my personal favorite, Metallica.
LOL. None of those bands are even close to being death metal. I recommend you take a trip to Youtube or Wikipedia and learn what death metal is before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.
By the way, you still haven't "happily replied" to my post like you said you would.
