Wait a minute, before you continue your obviously condesending ramble. Why do you even care? There are more exciting things to talk about than Harry Potter, and honestly do you have a life?

I'm sorry it's just terribly hard not to be condescending when the person I'm talking to is flaming the crap out of this. Why do I care because I like Harry Potter and don't enjoy being called a moron and yes I do have a life.
I thought that the movie was more of a chick flick with love potions and the way Harry looks at Rons sister, and Miss. Granger and Ron. That action parts weren't even that intense.
[quoteI have read all the books, but in the latter books they became sort of rambly, never pointing out much story wise.[/quote]
I have to agree with this. That's the reason why I don't think much of the story (er, what story???) after the 4th book came out because it was a spiralling out of control by then in terms of crappy storyline and rambling nonsense (and too much Harry being a whiner).

I was thinking more like 5th book. The sixth and seventh were really quite shocking...so much whining as you said...yeah, it was all about Harry, Harry this, Harry that. And the arguments those three main characters had...it was always the same...boring....
Wow, it's hard to come by people who won't swoon over the series and fight me to the death saying that it's the best thing ever! Thanks nichodemus. I agree with what you said about the arguments too.

If you taught about it, the plot isn't really original. Dark wizard killing a boy's parents, he grows up in a time of turmoil, and then goes on a quest for revenge. Not really really original...I just like the details...Quidditch...Honeydukes( food-lover XD) etc etc...but weak plot I think....
Anyway, Not very fond of the book (one of those I simply look at and try to recall what happened in), but the movie was actually a pleasant surprise, as long as you think of it as a movie and not a book-made-movie. They got a lot of good effects, and some of the scenes was marvelous. If I had the money, I'd see it again, actually.
As for the book, and the series in general, well, who cares if the plot is original (there are hardly any original storylines anymore), as long as it is well written. I have to admit, yes, it would have been nice with a slight reduction of the books (Who needs 5 and 6 anyway), some of them gave off the feeling of filler, and nothing really happens. As for the mob´vies, well, again: Who needs five? Three was just boring, and four was a disappointment both standing alone and compared to the book.
