Which country do you all think is the greatest country in the world? My vote goes to The great U.S. and A.

A country is an abstract thing, with imaginary borders that exist only on a map. What makes them real is that people take them so seriously. So what is so great about that? All that it does is divide the human race and cause terrible conflicts.
Humans are social creatures. And we like to interact with each other a lot. But we are also violent, and this causes all of us to dislike or distrust each other. But most humans want to believe they are better than others, hence the borders to keep the "lessers" out and the important in.
But the best country I believe is America, if everyone looks past the flaws we made, just think about this: We are the youngest country, yet we are the strongest country at the moment. We are the number 1 bringer of peace to other countries' peoples. (Over time) We have freedom, and most rights to our civilians, and the least corrupted government (Over all) (Not now though, lol, it's pretty messed up right now)
America, you can say, is a little confused right now. Even though some Americans voted for bush (who knows why). The majority look for friendship from other countries, we are too misunderstood, and some have to realize everyone makes mistakes. Our intentions are for the good, and some Americans need to realize what our true intentions are again.

what is "Great" depends on your perspective, so there is no true Greatest Country. there is no "best" or "good" country either. you can only say it an attribute it has been proven in such as: (fictional) Turkey is the best at the # of declarations of wars!

people tend to like to be in (sometimes distinct) groups on a local and national level. the ones who take it seriously (idiots) and are nationalistic are saying because of their homeland, they are the best.
People, stop the technicalities, even if they are abstract ideas, they are still present, and very much enforced. But besides that we are talking about the "Greatest Country", and why or why not they are. So keep it on the topic at hand.

There's a major difference between ravaging the middle east and ravaging Alaska for oil.
alaska supports a large amount of life due to its excellent climate.
The Middle eastern nations are...mainly desert. Not much life lives in desert. Thats why it's technically better to drill for oil in the Middle east than Alaska. And by the time I run for office, I'll guaran-damn-tee you that I'll find a way to change our dependence on nonrenewable resources.
As for Canada being the best, that's not really true. Canada, while giving out free healthcare at birth, cannot compare to the US's military. everything else is equal. Government, imports/exports, economy troubles, but not military. That little thing makes the USA better. SUCK IT LEAF-BOY!

Canada doesn't have a need for a large army, so they can use those resources on other things instead. If they chose build up their military instead I believe they could at least match the U.S.'s military over time.
