Euthanasia is the killing of someone with a condition or birth defect or retardation that makes them extremely different from other people. I don't mean skin color or appearance, I mean sever mental or brain problems.
Do you think that the murder of these people is ethical or not? And to whom should it apply?

Actually it should, that is what is leading to the rise in stupidity in the human race. If you look at kids now adays how many of them actually work hard in school to try to make successes out of themselves. In most public schools I see a few smart people and alot of stupid people.

IQ is how much you know. That's different from your capacity to learn (sorry if that doesn't make sense). Genes would influence how easily you learn, not how much you learn. There's also the influence of society, how kids are more tempted to play video games than try hard in school. And not just video games, there's a lot of distractions. They could have the ability to learn a lot, yet they choose not to. Genetics aren't involved, it's a choice.

My friend does terribly in school because she doesn't try hard. She has an IQ of 160. There is a difference between being stupid and not doing the work.

And who exactly are you to say that? No one has the right to say who can and cannot have kids, and that's not likely to change.
Now, I think you have the idea of Euthanasia wrong. Most commonly it's used for terminally ill people. What you're talking of is "urifying the gene pool," not Euthanasia.
There's a broad line between genocide and allowing the terminally ill to die as they wish.

*Sigh* lack of motivation & low grades =/= retardation. Mental defects=retardation. Retardation =/= terminally ill. Terminally ill = terminally ill. Euthanasia isn't meant to be used on those who aren't as smart as we are, only those doomed for a horrible death. Besides, there are some great athletes that are retarded, so just because one is retarded does not make you worthless.

Well, they could make a test specifically for the potential uthanies. But that's beside the point. I think it should only be used for people who aren't going to make it, but only by their judgement.
