So, you're interested in reporting something? Currently we have a few different ways to do that. The first of which being to report it to a moderator. Just give a description of what is happening, and provide a link to the offense. However, the mods sometimes get weighed down in the amount of reports they get.
That's why the Spammer and Hacker Organization Prevention Society (SHOPS) was created. You may remember us from when the site was still young. However, SHOPS died down once the original founders left the site. It is active once again though and this thread will answer any questions that you may have about it.
1. What is SHOPS and what do they do? SHOPS is an AG approved organization that is currently ran by Green12324 and Samdawghomie . We will be taking all reports that moderators and administrators do, which would include the following:
-Repeat threads -Misplaced threads -Spam comments/users continuously spamming -Flame comments/users continuously flaming -Troll comments/users continuously trolling -Links, comments, posts, etc above the PG-13 rating and anything else that you believe is against AG policy.
Once we receive your complaint we will review it (to the best of our ability). If we decide that in fact in violation of site rules we will pass it along to the moderators for them to take action.
2. Why is SHOPS here? SHOPS is here to help the moderators with the amount of reports they receive everyday. By filtering out the reports that do not need action to be taken we can let the moderators focus on the ones that do.
3. Does SHOPS have moderator powers? No. It is ran by normal users just like you.
4. How do I report something to SHOPS? All you need to do is follow this simple form:
Name of offender : Type of offense : (spamming, flaming, trolling, etc) Link(s) to offense(s) : (provide url to the offense)
Without the URL link we will not review your case. Once you fill that out you can post it on the SHOPS wall and we will take appropriate action.
Please do not report anything that can be solved my flagging, however.
5. Do I need to be a "member" of SHOPS to report a problem? No, you do not. SHOPS will not have members, as that would defeat the purpose. We want everyone to be able to report problems, not a select few.
6. How do I become an administrator of SHOPS? When the time comes that we search for someone to help us run SHOPS we will be looking for mature and responsible users who are committed to making AG a better place. Like the moderators of AG, the admins of SHOPS will be hand picked, and asking to become an admin will decrease your chances of being considered.
7. Can we contact you outside of AG? If you need to contact SHOPS outside of AG you can email us directly at SpammerOrganization@gmail.com.
I'm not quite sure why you tweo just decided yo uwould be qualified well enough to run this...and did you have permisson from either the MODS, or one of the old makers to use the name and every thing?
True. But I don't think any of the previous users of SHOPS are here. Although there's no way of really knowing since they completely changed the profile page.
And as for samdawghomie I don't think that makes sense at all that he is 12 and running SHOPS.
