Well,I dont belive in God or stuff,but...heavens shouldnt have any bad things but(people belive) it's gates are made of gold!Crontroversy in heavens!if you know any other controversy,please post.
Gold being used for gates and roads in heaven is a symbol to show how worthless it is there, the most valuable things here on earth are worthless in heaven. Streets of gold and gates of gold show this because we wouldn't make a street of gold would we? Or a gate of gold if it is used for defence.
That's not very smart, gold bends easily. Maybe it's saying that in heaven all that matters if what you have? And as long as you flash that around people will leave you alone.
Personally I don't know what will happen after we die, but I don't think there's any more of a chance of it being good than being bad.

Yes it has sense as a gate of gold. Heaven is beautiful and all people runs happy. Doesn't matter, it's different in all religions, so don't worry, it's just a symbol.
Technically, since Heaven is meant to be a spiritual paradise, gold has no inherent value or use... nor would any other material. I wouldn't view the gates of heaven as being made of gold as 'controversial'.
I'd view it as god playing to the human fascination with 'Oooh, Shiny!'
Gold and the rest of the jewels described in heaven are usually used to represent purity or as a metaphor for a biblical occurrence. Then again "the pearly gates" was probably though up by some random pastor.

I think its a metaphor. That Heaven is so great, that such a valluble thing down here (such as gold) is considered trivial enough to be made into a gate, to pave roads and such.
There's a lot of people saying streets of gold are stupid because gold bends easy and things like that. No One really knows what heaven is like. People say the streets are made of gold just because gold is a "recious metal". It's just said to demonstrate that Heaven is such a grand place, but no one really knows exactly what it's like for sure.
