Yes it is but some countries are proud of their religion and don`t want to change it, now if you change your religion or quit it there you may be considered unpatriotic. And I am an atheist so I don`t care if you are a Christian, Jew etc. religion just separates people.

You're right, but it's a shame...

well you can not be unpatriotic by not believing in something.
patriotizm means, that you are proud of your country.
it does not mean that you follow or approve every action that happens in your country.
otherwise all people who are not following obama would have to be considered unpatriotic, because they believe in something else then he does

-But can`t you realize that some countries are made of one specific religion can`t you, read my posts which is located 5 posts above this one.

It's not because they're attached to a specific religion (Iran, etc...) that it's unpatriotic!
To be patriotic doesn't mean you approve everything you country does!
Donpiet is right, you can be patriot even if your country claim another religion than yours!

you need to understand the differences.

i fully understand, i'm quite waware of political/religional problems in the world, but again, it may cause problem in some countries, but if you are a bit intelligent, you should know that religion and state are two different things, even if the country is based on a specific religion...
Religion shouldn't be the center of one state's policy...

I don't talk to you about reality of things, I know that in the History Religion has always been the center of all the concerns...
But I'm talking you about the way it should be...noone should ever be compelled to choose a religion functions of his country...

i did read every single one. and even though, if you do not believe in that one religion you can still be patriotic. otherwise every one who does not believe in capitalism could not be patriotic in america, because since ever they have had a capitalistc system

+1 for Donpiet...
You don't have to accept all the aspects of your country to be proud of it!
Look: France's football team is lame this year, and the past year, and all the years since 2006...but I still like my country...

a band i like once said:" patriotizm is not blind believing that what your country says is right. it is more a relationship of the father towards a son. if you realize that he does something wrong, you point it out and want to make him to improve it. but now matter what happens you will be proud of him and love him."

thats not the actual words, i tried to reproduce the message of the statement

WTF??You're 14 and you try to teach us how the world is running?
We talk you about what it should be, not about what it is in reality!!
being patriotic shouldn't be a matter of religion but of personnal point of view!
Anyway, I'm neither patriotic neither religious, so I don't see why I keep trying to argue with a guy unable to see the difference between religion and state...

No. Patriotism is the love of ones' country, not the love of god. Most of the people that call your friend probably don't know the definition of patriotism, and therefore probably have a lack of it themselves.

I have no idea why anyone is patriotic. Even me. It's hard to comprehend why most people are patriotic. Odd. . . .

And that is an important lesson for all of us, comrades. Different interpretations of things have lead to different branches of Christianity such as Lutherism, Calvinism, Protestantism, Catholicism, Mormonism and much much more!

Even with socialism and communism the definitions are so broad that you have to specify which form you're talking about these days; Marxism, Leninism, Trotskyism, Stalinism, Cambodian communism, Utopian socialism, democratic socialism, Soviet socialism, Scandinavian socialism endless I say!
