I've spent hours while trying to sleep pondering what happens and what it feels like after you die. The thought scared me a little. So, the question is, do you believe in coming back to Earth as a different animal, a different human being? Or do you think we float aimlessly in blackness? Or do you believe in heaven and hell?
Only the dead can ever truley know what happens after death, and they aren't saying anything. It's true that I can't remember anything before I was born (as someone else said), but I also can't remember things that happened in my earlier years, even one or two recent, unimportant things. The fact of the matter is we'll all find out one day so why bother worrying about it and think about something important.
not hearing much from lutherans here. i guess we're too passive aggressive for this. after reading paradise lost, i came to the conclusion that you have to be something special to get into heaven or hell. otherwise, you just cease to exist. faith is a good thing, because it makes dying more peaceful. but no reincarnation for me.
There is no proof of anything, so I just have faith in what is going to happen to me. If I reincarnate (if that is a word) I would be a butterfly. If I cease to exist, let's hope I won't get bored. If I go to heaven or hell, that's fine, as long as I don't go to hell. XD. Here is a question for you; if we cease to exist, do we all cease to exist together?
Well...I'm a Buddhist, yes. And I believe our (referring to Buddhists) actions determine what/who we will be in the next life. Though there's really no solid proof, it's still my belief.
Thats a really good question and im sure people have gone crazy trying to figure it out...but hey just live life and when your time comes im sure you will figure it out....
I meant in the sphere of afterlife supposition. Matter can not be created or destroyed and, energy and mass are convertible so maybe when you die you leave behind energy that is recycled.
reincarnation is an interesting idea... yet it is flawed. there are more living beings (humans and animals, plants, etc..) around now than there was yesterday, and certainly more than there was several years ago.
