I was thinking: God is the king; but what about all the saints ? Some people pray to them more than they pray to God. You can find the same thing in the Greek religion: Zeus is the ultimate god, but there are many more smaller gods that represent something. So, is christianism a montheist religion?

Yes, because the saints aren't Gods. In Christianity God is the only official God. I can pray to whoever I want, but that doesn't make them an official God. Maybe a personal God, but not an official one.

Catholics (who make up the majority of Christians) pray to saints. Protestants and those who are Orthodox do not pray to saints.

Everyone here said it perfectly. So I still believe Christianity is a monothesistic religion.

Actually, God is the only one I pray to. I can pray to specific saints on issues of slight importance, but I usually do God or Jesus, who are the same person (in my belief, that is). I still consider it monotheistic, but I could see how one would arrive at that conclusion.

I've never prayed to a Saint because technically every Christian is a saint (look it up) also God isn't the king he shares equal power with Jesus and the holy spirit.

Christianism? lol

Some Christians are, but not all are - the Trinitirians believe in three gods - god the father, god the son, and god the holy ghost.

It is logically impossible for them to be both exactly the same and totally different at the same time, so don't even try it.

God is the divine being with a long beard

You know its kinda funny: Our image of God living in the clouds with long robes and smiting people with lightning bolts sounds like a familiar Zeus( Who was the king of the gods and also the god of lightning and of the sky)

Just throwing this out for discussion.

kirby your 2nd one was better at describing it. Another thing about descriptions is that it is never said that angels have wings, yet everyone pictures them having wings.

On topic, Praying to a saint is basically the same a praying to God because God gives them the ability to do everything. I myself almost always just pray to God or Jesus or The Holy Spirit (who are the same person in my beliefs)

If God doesn't exists, then how is that your DNA is 6000000000 more compact then a 140 GB hard drive?
You have no life, do some research about your stupid thinking, before you come here.
I would be happy to debate with you.

I think you ment to say Christianity.
Yes, Christianity is monotheist.
Isaiah 43:10-11
"Ye are My witnesses", saith the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no savior."

Remind me how does DNA prove God? Granted DNA is a outrageously large molecule( I think you meant that the phosphate sugar and Nucleotides are very small)

Buddy just because I said God looked like Zeus doesn't give you the right to insult me. Just because I think differently than you doesn't mean I'm stupid and ignorant. Go study Greek mythology and you'll see the connect too.(hopefully)

@Zep0Q:

Dude, that's not really fair. Don't come into a thread already angry just because of one little post. Deserteagle's post made perfect sense to me, and I don't see how DNA being compact proves God's existence. Everyone has thought about their religious standpoint very carefully if they're willing to put it out here, and before you judge it from your perspective alone, explore and understand it.
Also, great logic. Do some research about your stupid thinking. Do some research about your stupid grammar.
I would be happy to debate with you.

Actually, Deserteagle is one of the better debaters on AG, so you would probably lose if you can't keep your cool.
@Deserteagle:
God looked like Zeus

I know you had a whole paragraph above, but this seemed like the simple version of what you said. I actually hadn't noticed this surprisingly, which I really should have. Of course, in my beliefs, our depiction of God is probably impossible to imagine. Back then, people pictured their god or gods as powerful, therefore in control of the weather and able to smite whomever they pleased.
For all the images of heaven being in the clouds, I'd like to say that on my part, I believe heaven to be a seperate dimension, not a tangible thing that we could fly up to. Of course I know some would disagree, but I've come across (not you in particular, but your post gave me a chance to address this) too many people who think that my faith means I think God is sitting on a cloud and Satan dances in the center of the earth.
