Now, I know i should dig deeper and get both sides of the story and such, but I found a problem with SHOPS already.
So it seems greean is being rather rude to hollistergirl. Why you may ask? Simplie for a stament made in her about saying, "Rasicst should go to hell." Which is an opinon correct?
So he comes in saying that she needs to take it down that it is flamming. Which, it is not.
He has no real power there, and idon't think he should not be alowed to "run" SHOPS, if he is going to get a big head about it.
Really what I'm trying to say is just go read Green's profile, and Hollisters. You will see what I mean.

How does saying that have to do anything with being/acting like a moderator.
Should have been a question mark at the end of the sentence, but oh well. To answer your question usually the moderators say things like that. And it also has meaning when the moderators say it.

The fact that you would even bother with telling her to remove it, is besides me. The only people who should really even care that it was there, are racists themselves. Sure, it may not have been the nicest statement. But its nothing for you to respond to. It didn't insult any member, it wasn't abuse of the point system, and it wasn't flaming, so it looks like it wasn't shops place.

Someone had repeatedly complained about it, so I don't see what's wrong with simply asking someone to remove it. (As I said before, it was a mistake to pursue the problem)

It's annoying, but most the time the people do need to stop spamming, flaming, etc. I just don't want to get us all banned or something for discussing this in the wrong place.
Ok so I have been reading this forum and I am just curious what exactly SHOPS is. I have searched all over Armor Games and finally found the link. But anyway, I don't see much of a point to it, so I would like to know more since this is techniquely a board about shops....If anyone would be so kind.

What kind of crack are you smoking? Flaming is a flame war. Not potential flaming.
green, your job in shops is to filter through the complaints, and send the important ones to the mods. It is not your job to act on the complaints because You are not a mod. it just creates bigger problems when a user yells at another user for supposedly not following the rules, and the mods are gonna end up having to clean up in the end anyway. I don't know why you're running the SHOPS account, but next time, if you see a complaint that needs to be acted upon, tell it to the mods.
Well...SHOPS is to me rather pointless. A mod can just handle all the complains, and decide to act on them if they consider it more than minor. And mods are handpicked in such a way that the staff know they can be counted on to decide which complains to take or not. But SHOPS is run by normal members, and though we know SHOPS members generally are responsible, they're not really mod-material, or rather not full mod-material, and as a result, may not know which reports to take or not.
The Hollister Example is already quite a good case study. Should a member take it or not? What if the remark was personal? Are the members going to be objective about it, and not take it to heart and therefore complain to mods? As far as I know, Hollister has been saying that to many people so far, even to her friends, so I doubt she was flamming.
And let's face it. A quick IM to a mod should get things sorted out fast. SHOPS like what cholo said, is basically a meat shield, and just a place for complaints to be placed without spamming the walls of mods. And again, not everyone knows about it.

That would be more of a debate, much like this. A flame war is more off an argument between two users or two groups. Well i guess maybe a flame war. The side that likes SHOPS and the group that dislikes it. Amway i consider flame to be pointless where it is a argument that is off topic.
