In 2012 the world is supposed to end and we may or may not all die out. We' ll I don't think that will happen. In 2000 computers were supposed to stop working because they only went up to 1999. Then everyone would die. ? What do you think
the computers were only programmed for 1900-99 with a '67 format. when it reached 2000 people thought the computers would think it's 1900. the worse it did was mess up a few credit card dates
i don't think you can pinpoint a date. there are too many variations of what year it really is. jews believe it's like year 5627

If you life long enough like God Himself or around 1.000.000.000.000.000 years, yes you can say what year now is, there is no other way to know the exact date, and we don't really need it.

There are some threads similar to this one, but you can look around, I don't really follow this kind of thread.
It's true that on year 2012 all the planets in our galaxy will be in 'straight' position, so we, earth, might have some electromagnetic problems or gravitational problems, but we don't know yet.
Well, in reality this is about ancient astrological caculations.
In fact, there are some zodiac eras of greater scale. They say we are now on the "age of pisces", and on 2012 we are just entering the "age of aquarius".
Oh, I always thought we lived in the Andromeda galaxy. TT --
I think there are too many threads with this topic...
Regarding the Mayan calendar, I don't really think the world would end in 2012 just cause some ancient civilization stopped marking dates after that year.

No, it's the Milky way! (where are all these cows then?)

In fact, I saw in a "serious" documentary on the TV, where a mayan historian was being interviewed and he said that, in reality, the mayan calendar extends to ten million years(!). He also mentioned that this was about some missing "lates" on the calendar..
Well, if it's some kind of mistake, I don't know why people are freaking out about it. And, if it happens, it happens. There's no stopping something that could possibly end humanity.
back at what Graham said on the first page about Jews thinking it's year 5627 or something could mean that doomsday already happened in 2012 on the Jew's calendar. That's something to think about.
