So the UK's pirate party is an official political party as of the 11th of August and I just wanted to share with you guys there 3 main policys of the party

"⢠Reform copyright and patent law. We want to legalise non-commercial file sharing and reduce the excessive length of copyright protection, while ensuring that when creative works are sold, it's the artists who benefit, not monopoly rights holders. We want a patent system that doesn't stifle innovation or make life saving drugs so expensive that patients die.

⢠End the excessive surveillance, profiling, tracking and monitoring of innocent people by Government and big businesses.

⢠Ensure that everyone has real freedom of speech and real freedom to enjoy and participate in our shared culture."

These are there core policy not their only ones so want to know what you think about their policies and about them.

That's the only thing that I agree with. Right now the record companies get more of the profit than the actual band who created the music. I don't think over half of my profits is a fair trade for a bit of advertising.

I will stop
Here is my take on it even though i know anyone will care
Pirates will never be taken seriously in a stable government.
they would have no experience with politics, and would not have a chance of winning elections
the only way pirates could take power is the same way they did Somalia- by force

We're talking about online piracy. Like when people file share copy righted music and such.

Also, no one in their right mind would elect them. Why? Because they have a completely baseless plan. Only one goal? Are you kidding me?

Yeah maybe if they had of put change at the end...

Perhaps the artists who sign on to those companies do. Not every record label works the same, and not every contract is the same either. If you're a band & you don't like the contract, you have the ability to say no and take your talent elsewhere. If an artist chooses to join that label though, that's how it works.

@Milos

Those so look like the little piggies GIR uses in the Invader Zim episode where they replace Dib's stuff back in time with pigs. Awesome.
