What do you think of the Wii? Many people think it is far outshined by the pretty graphics and audio of the 360 and PS3. Some think it's motion sensor and more realistic gameplay makes it a better system then others.
I, personally, enjoy the Wii and 360 on about the same level, or at least I used to until good games stopped coming out on the Wii. I've always loved Mario, Zelda, and Fire Emblem, so Nintendo has always been one of my favorites. The X-Box has some solid shooters and the only system to have Halo. Sure Halo has a lot of flaws, and a fairly weak storyline after a while...but it is fun. Plus it saved the X-Box.. but I'm getting off topic here.
The Wii has in depth gameplay and its motion sensors are far better than the PS3's. I really don't like Playstation very much. Not enough amazing games that I'd be interested in for one thing... Not to mention how expensive it was, and still kinda is.
The Wii was, affordable with a new way of gaming revealedNot moving an analog stick until the gun pointed at a guy, but moving your arm, until your arm pointed at a guy.
The graohics are very weak, but something I'm sure we've all heard seems to fit right now. Quality over quantity. Quality gameplay, over a big flashy hardrive teeming with megapixels to make the game look shiny. Now, sure. If I had both at the same time I'd be estatic. Gears of War's a good example... So what do you guys think?
The only system that I have not owned yet is a PS3(mainly for the price). Right now I have a Wii, 360, PS2, and a Nintendo Gamecube hooked up in my house. I hate to say it, but the Wii gets the most play time from me and my kids. It is a great system for what they designed it for. You have to remember that Nintendo said from the very start that they were not in the graphics war. They wanted to just make good value games.
i have a wii and a ps3, the problem with the wii is that like gamesarmor said, the wii is for kids, the only game i found that was a little mature was star wars force unleashed(and maybe zelda) but on my ps3 i have so many games all with great gameplay.
also ive never seen anyone play the wii standing up like advertised, i sit the hell down like everyone i know. another thing i dont like about the wii, the two remote things are connected with a cord witch is incredibaly anoying.
so all in all i think unless they make this system more for adults and teens and less for kids its would be better(but hey, i guess kids like it)
Nintendo is not based around graphics, although the wii is capable(have you seen resident evil 4 on that!!!?!?)Mario Kart and SSBB were fun, But I'll stick to the PC.
We have something called target audience. The reason the Wii is pwning its competitors in sales is because it's aimed at the casual gamer. So what if you're hardcore?
And graphics? I don't know about you, but I still play 8-bit games. The least of my worries when playing any game is typically graphics, because it'll inevitably get outdated anyway. So there are a few options:
A) Get some more serious games for the Wii like Trauma Center, No More Heroes, Resident Evil 4, etc. B) Quit whining and showing off your hardcore-ness. C) Get a PS3 or Xbox360. D) A combination of A, B, and C.
In my mind, the PC is the best console anyway, so I don't really care about the consoles. Just the games, is all.
I love my wii. First I can connect to the internet for free...i don't know about the ps3 but, you have to pay for freaking xbox 360 and i refuse to do that. Plus, I can download, for a reasonable price i might add, excellent games from all of the old systems i no longer have, to include NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and the like. Next, as far as age appeal is concerned i would say it has a lot of games seemingly aimed at children but, there are good titles for adults as some of the aforementioned ones above, plus CoD World at War. I love my wii, I do play standing up, I just bought Wii sports resort, quite awesome and all.
Basically, the wii just isn't for some gamers. I love my xbox 360 but they satisfy different niches in my gaming cravings.
It depends what you're looking for in a platform. If you're a hardcore gamer and need shooting, blood and gore, amazing graphics etc etc. Then the wii is not for you. The wii is more of a party/family platform. But has some awesome games such as: super paper mario (not that well known, but so addictive it's not even funny.) SSBB, and mario kart. So it just depends on the gamer i guess...
