over the years games have been getting better graphics, but does this make them better? The nintendo64 has some of the best games i have ever played. just because they look better does that mean they are better?

Oh, classic games, no question. I'd choose Space Invaders over Halo 3 any day.

Personally, I'd play a "New Game" over a classic. All the consoles I have are retro consoles, and I'm getting pretty tired of them :/. Better gameplay is what I like.

No contest, I'd play a classic game over a new one. Take Persona 4 for example, a new RPG that I absolutely love. However if you asked me to pick between Person 4 and say, Chrono Trigger, or EarthBound, or Super Mario RPG I'll always side with the classics.

Some of the best games ever were on NES and SNES. 3D just ruined games and I feel like i'm watching a movie half the time.

New games hands down. While the classics did lay the foundation for video games, their pixelated graphics and experimental controls are nothing compared to what we have today.

Don't say a game is better just because of the stupid graphics. A game is a game, and the graphics should not be a factor in which the game is defined. Would anybody play a Pacman game with better graphics over the original? It just seems silly...

In terms of gameplay, older games can match up to newer ones.

I usually play older games since my PC is outdated and since I have a deep interest in them.

Though the "betterness" depends on the game. I enjoy both newer and older games.

I agree.

It seems like all of the games nowadays are war games with nearly-identical plots. Now if Pacman had a sequel...

the N64 was the best local multiplayer system ever. *remembers wayne Gretzky's hockey* i would choose classic over new as long as i didnt have ppl whining about graphics and not even trying it.

Isn't that kinda to easy to say? ugh...whatever

Well, it depends how the new game is. I'm looking to Modern Warfare 2 though. So I'm going to pick classic instead of new games.
