I read an article in the paper called "Facebook fatigue" which stated that in the UK we can't sleep at night because we're on facebook. Is armor games an exception to this internet obssession? For me, No. It's 5:25am. Is it us or technology that creates this addiction?

I think it's entirely 'us' that creates the addictive behaviour. Before the internet was widely & publicly available, I used to stay up to all hours reading books, or hanging out with my friends. With or without the internet, I'm a night owl; it's just in my nature.
@dunadan
I don't want to be rude, but try to go back to a normal life man! It's insane! And it's also pretty sad...
Not everyone keeps the same schedules, or has jobs in regular hours. You might want to know all the facts before you judge somebody.
I've been on here at 5:30 am. When you suffer from a primary insomnia disorder & you're awake all the time, I find you need to discover things to do to keep your mind busy.

Yes, but in this case, I don't think it was a matter of insomnia or work... Plus, I did work at night last summer, and the last thing I wanted after coming back from work was going on a fuckin' computer to chat...
Well, he clearly says (but I can make a mystake of course) that internet creates an addiction, with facebook for instance...and he says then:for me no, it's 5:25AM...which, I guess, means that armor games is an addiction for him...
And for mye xemple of myself working at night, I justw anted to show that, according to me, when yopu go back home after working in a factory for eight hours, you're so tired you don't want to get on a computer...Or, If you want, it's the proof that you're indeed adict...
when you come back after 8 or more hours of hard work, all you want to do is relax and then sleep. so for some people relaxing might be hanging in front of the computer chatting.
so only because you dont want to chat when you are tired, doesnt mean noone, wants or is addicted.
try google and or wikipedia to check addiction criteria.
Ok... Well, I consider that going on a computer till 5AM is an addiction, and/or stupidity... Plus, I don't see how relaxing a forum is, but it's as you want... I just say that I don't understand how, after a full night of work, you can have the will to chat or anything like that...But if you do, fine, I just don't see the point...

if hanging in front of a computer until 5 am is stupid/addiction, than every other activity performed untill that time is an addiction/stupid.
Plus, I don't see how relaxing a forum is, but it's as you want..
only because it isnt for you it might be for others
I just say that I don't understand how, after a full night of work, you can have the will to chat or anything
well, some people might have more energy than you or like chatting, or need something to do until they feel sleepy. there are millions of reasons for every activity at any time of the night or day.
I just don't see the point
not everything people do has a point. people do stuff because they like it.
it can be. but only because you dont like or dont do something it doesnt make it stupid or an addiction.

I don't think so, but if it's your point of view I'm okay with that.
why should other activities have more value or be less addicting than being online? that does not make any sense. you should be consistent in your judgements.
Any website has the potential to be addictive for some people. AG is one that is easier to become addictive to because it's all the other websites in one. You have your games, your social networking through profiles, and lively forums.
During the summer I would stay on here until 1 am or later simply because there was nothing else to do. I wouldn't say I was addicted though, just spent too much time online xP
it can be. but only because you dont like or dont do something it doesnt make it stupid or an addiction.
I still think it is stupid, but again, it is my opinion, you don't have to share it.

Stop this moralistic speech, doesn't work with me. Plus, sseing friends isn't addicting, far as I know... And I still think social life is more important than fake friends at the other side of the planet or the country... I don't see why it's bothering you, it's clear that internet provides a false feeling of friendship, as it can be seen with facebook or other meeting places...
