I really didn't expect much in his first year considering the mess he was handed. I wouldn't really be all that surprised even if there wasn't much progress by his second year either.
With that in mind, as for the job so far I think some of what he has done could be done better.
I wouldn't paint him as some horrible monster as some seem to.
"The best presidents are the ones that do nothing." -Me
You quoted yourself? Lol
I think Obama is trying to solve too many problems at once. I know with the stimulous package he wanted to fix everything, but if you bite off more than you can chew, the whole country's going to be choking along with him.
Because of my political standpoints, I don't agree with the way he's approaching the situation, so I don't think he's doing a good job. Keep in mind, though, it is hard to do a good job in these economic times.
All right people there is no need to post on this thread anymore lol
I take that as you agree with me?
These are kids you are asking. Although we have good ideas, we don't really have the best economic stand point.
Most of the kids that care about politics have a tendency to like them, and as a result tend to know what they're talking about. . . At least a little. Not everyone knows everything about everything. . . .
There is no way that spending all that money is going to help ANYTHING... I can't see it... And i think it will help us in the future i mean if we care about this stuff now we will know what is going on later. that's how i see it.
Considering the Right is banding together with a power that hasn't been felt for a while, he's just holding in there. I didn't support Obama, and I still don't, but I don't think he's inept or anything.
Considering the Right is banding together with a power that hasn't been felt for a while,
What? Just because you're seeing an increase of people yelling at politicians at town hall meetings protesting one issue doesn't mean that the Conservative Right is banding together.
If anything, it's still in shambles; you have the head of the Republican National Convention, Michael Steele, pushing for a more moderate approach for the Republican platform, and then apologizing to the likes of Rush Limbaugh, who isn't an expert on anything political.
There's two separate entities of the Right at the moment, the Far Right and those who are with Steele, who understand that the nation is moving away from the politics that the Far Right are clinging to, and that a more moderate approach is the only way the party will survive.
Although certain sides of the political spectrum will always band together throughout their various factions when you've got something that's widely opposed throughout the whole party, such as Universal Healthcare, it doesn't show any permanent bonding or fusing of a new platform.
Now, on topic. I feel Obama is doing pretty well all things considered; he landed the office with the economic crisis on his plate, and he's trying to pass as much important legislation as possible. So, he's taking on a lot, which is extremely impressive. Although, timing does call for pushing the more important issues first and foremost in a president's term.
If you look at how far other presidents have gotten on pushing Universal Healthcare bills through Congress, he's already made it farther than any other Commander in Chief.
Although it's not realistic to expect any president to fulfill all of his campaign promises, I'm looking forward to seeing how Obama does throughout the rest of his term.
May I ask what freedoms you have lost because of Obama? I can't name one freedom I have lost since Obama's inauguration.
freedom of speech is first and for most, they now have zones where people can voice there opinions, only in those zones otherwise you are arrested(unless your opinion is the same as the working government).
Just because you're seeing an increase of people yelling at politicians at town hall meetings protesting one issue doesn't mean that the Conservative Right is banding together.
the people yelling at those meetings are one of two kinds,
1.Old people worried about the health care making them a statistic and calculating if theyre life is worth keeping(the so called 'death pannels'
or 2. people in movements such as campaign for liberty who are completely outraged by whats going on and want they're freedoms restored.
those town halls are either organized protests(witch they dont cover on the mainstream news programs, or they are old farts yelling, witch they do cover)
''Freedom is doing absolutely whatever you want as long as, it does not harm another human being and it does not infringe on the freedoms of another human being''
''I should be allowed too run naked in the streets covered with green jello reading playboy magazines if i suddenly feel the need too''

I've heard verified representations of the reduction in freedom of speech, but may I ask where you got this information? That's a stretch, even by my standards.
''I should be allowed too run naked in the streets covered with green jello reading playboy magazines if i suddenly feel the need too''
Maybe not. That's quite wrong. I do so hope you didn't come up with that, because if you did, yikes, you're creepy >>.>>
