Well I'm pretty sure we all know about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atom bombs by America near the end of World War 2, right? Now here's my question:
Was it justified? I mean, it's done and gone, but was it all right? I mean, it got Japan out of World War 2, which arguably was a vital step in the Allied victory. But billions of innocent people died in the bombed cities. But, also, as I said, this was a vital step in ending WW2. So it probably saved as many innocent lives as it killed, not just people captured by the Axis Powers, but soldiers as well. But the question still stands.
Was the use of the atom bomb justified?

Where did you hear all that, pathologic?
Not to put you on the spot or anything, but it'd be nice if you cited some sources for that.

--Kasic have you substracted the casualties caused by nuclear bombs or just took total casualties? by counting total casualties I think it would be best to substract the death tolls of war on the west(germany versus allies should not count because these are 2 different fronts,it would be proper if we would find a casualty toll of invading an island and then miltiply it until end of war

I took the rough average of around 5-6 different sites on google, just the ones that showed up first, hence my comment,

lets just say 40 million dead
is more of a rough estimation of how many deaths on average occured every 6 months in WW2, now that could vary depending on what battles were fought (D-day) and there are no civillian only casulties lists that I have found. I beleive the majority of the casulties though to be civillian because even totaling china, japan, U.S, europe, germany, I don't think they could support a total of 30 million people, and even that is still 10 million civillian casulties, I beleive a more realistic proportion would be around 5-10 million soldiers at the most and the rest are civillian casulties. Say the total civillian death toll was 30 million, thats still 2.5 million civillians dead in 6 months, far more than the atomic bombs killed.
