I am just wondering what my surname means, I am Polish and i have absolutely no idea what it means, apart from the "cki"art of it, i know what that means but that it? anyone got any ideas or can help, i done lots of research on it.
Ok I got a new one, i found out about Szczucki, was named after a town, I think my ancestors where peasants maybe, I am not so sure. But now i have and even more mysterious one, my mothers maidens name. It's Stanczak And I have no idea at all about it.
ya i remember reading something bout that before but what you wrote reminded me of it. kinda like a doctor that uses leeches on his patients for an infection or something.
I actually got a drink coaster a few years back with my name and it's etymology. Mine's derived from old Irish, Kevin is kind, gentle, and handsome. Also the last part of my name means birth. I like to think of myself as a handsome, kind gentlemen.

It would be impossible to get one of those of my name lol, I wish it wasn't so hard to find out what my surname is, or my mothers maiden name Stanczak
I'm Italian and my surname is tasca that means simply pocket. If you want to know about the diffusion of your surname in USA or Italy visit http://www.gens-us.net/map/genera.html?cognome= http://www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/
No idea. All I know is mine is so effing common, I plan on having it changed.
Hendricks, in case you were wondering. I want to change it to my step-dads name, simply because his is so effing awesome, albeit totally not in my genetics.
My first name means 'messenger of God' (HA - that's good for an Atheist) and my last one is derived from the occupation of being a park-keeper in medieval times. Also, the motto on our coat-of-arms is 'fideli certa merces' which means 'to the faithful there is certain reward' (again, great for an Atheist).
