Josip Tito is one of the few communist leader I hold some respect for; his government paid for everything the people needed: housing, food, health care, education...he was truly in it for the people economically it would seem. I have two friends (one on this site) from two different nations that used to be part of Yugoslavia that say their parents wish Tito was alive so that he could bring the good old days of socialism back to Yugoslavia. And to add, Tito openly broke his ties with Stalin or by extension the Comintern and the official "communist" side of the cold war. This angered Stalin to the degree that five assassins (all failed) were sent to dispatch Tito. Eventually, Yugoslavia became neutral in the cold war until Tito's death in 1980.
Some communists Albanians fought against the Axis, but they lost cause the majority of the Albanians supported the Axis. Also Bulgaria made many crimes during the occupation of parts of Greece and Yugoslavia, but nowadays only few know it.

During Italian occupation, the Albanian population was subject to a policy of forced Italianization, the use of the Albanian language was discouraged in schools while the Italian language was promoted. It was tough for them, maybe it was slightly better, but I don't think they saw any important improvement under the Axis.

Kosovo is mostly made up of Albanians. I'm not in favor of Kosovo independence, but I understand the argument on the Kosovo/Albanian side.
The reason why many in the world support Kosovar independence is because of people like you. You have a nasty attitude towards Albanians. Serbs have always come off as aggressive and violent. Even more than Americans. Lighten up.
US bombed us in 1999 and wouldn't stop until we retreat our military and police from Kosovo. Then when we were forced to surrender NATO troops came to Kosovo. This is like occupation. During the bombing CNN and BBC constantly reported about hard life that Albanians have and how they were treated unfairly while Albanian extremists were taking pictures of themselves with severed heads of Serbs. Not to mention large number of kidnapped non Albanians whose organs were extracted and sold on the black market. Obviously, media are shaping public opinion in the USA and are making bad picture of Serbs because of strong Albanian lobby.
Albania is loyal to America Albania does whatever the US say, so they gave them a s a reward Kosovo. I saw somewhere that now in Kosovo the non Albanians are oppressed by the Albanians. Also Albanians because of their loyalty to the Us do whatever they want, they have imprisoned a Greek speaking Albanian, because he wanted that in the Greek speaking regions the street sign were also written in Greek.

Actually, my original post was about how the Albanians had it better under Hitler than their former government. You made no mention of it and went straight to the Kosovo issue. Totally unrelated.

I realize that the Albanians did not have freedom under the fascists. But they also had little to no freedom when they were a kingdom. So I can understand why they moved towards supporting fascism.
Starting in 1928 king Zog was almost completely dependent to Mussolini began to cede Albanians' sovereignty to Italy. By 1939 Albanian was an Italian territory. So Albania was under the fascist control from almost the moment it become a free state, the first years wasn't even a republic and when the country adopted a republican form of government Albania started becoming dependent to Italy.
Now after USA awarded them with Kosovo "in the name of peace*(American regime and their form of peace) they are taking full control over it shutting all Serbian people electricity and killing, putting every one in jail for saying what they think, they are little snakes who manipulate power countries go get what the want, looking like they are the victims.
I completely agree. The Kosovo rebels committed their share of atrocities. But because the US was siding with the rebels, it rarely got reported in the media. And the reason why the US sided with Kosovo is because Russia is an ally of Serbia. The US politicians still believe that the cold war exists. So, naturally, the US supports the opposite of what Russia supports. For example, the US is all for Kosovo independence (because Russia is not) but won't support independence movements in Abkhazia and South Ossetia (because Russia supports their independence). It's just a big game to Russia and the US. Neither country really cares about the best interest of the people. They care about the balance of power. Nothing more, nothing less.
