So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
Wow, I just noticed a really big function of the Black Queen. I am planning on testing this with every unit, and test it with conditions.
Right now I can say the following: The Black Queen fires 2 shots at the base when ordering to advance.
I know this becasue the anti-ground weapon deals 140 normal damage, and it is a type 3 weapon. The armor for the Central Base multiplies type 3 weapon damage by 0.7. This mean the Black Queen should deal 98 damage to the Central Base, but it deals 196 damage. You should realize half of 196 is 98. I also know from experience, sometimes a Black Queen fires at a mass of Chronite Tanks most of them die, but some have 30 health left. I should have noticed this before (just realized another thing). A Black Queen should deal 280 (chronite multiplies type 3 weapons by 2) damage to Chronite Armored units, but the target unit dies. Same thing happens to all Chronite Armored units.
The fact is Black Queens shouldn't be killing Chronite units in one shot. There is something that is making them shoot 2 shots everytime it fires at ground.
good observation but im not gonna start telling krin or anything. im perfectly happy with 1 hit koing random units(roman army all lined up = ) with one bq.
40P2P, Romans should die in one hit from a Black Queen.
Here's a list of what units should die:
Marine Sniper Meditec S-Marine Far Sniper A25-Roman
Heres a list of Units that should survive:
Chronite Tank with 30 Grodtiz with 50 Sakata Spider with 60* Mod. Sakata with 160** Sakata Mk-II with 95*** Hover Tank with 265 A28-Gladiator with 545 A27-Pride with 245 Sphinx with 1230
* unit regenerates at a rate of 17.1 health per second. ** unit regenerates at a rate of 60 health per second. ***unit regenerates at a rate of 9 health per second.
As you can see this is a hidden-bug, like the splash-bug, that ruins the gameplay of Colony. This bug need to be fixed in the next patch, like the null/resource-glitch and splash-bug.
I guess you are confused how I noticed this and you didn't. Well I am fixing together a Colony guide which currently had been 60% done, but now after this find it's only back to 40%.
Well, I got some good and bad news. Good news is the cuase of the Hard Drive not working is a new virus that only corrupts how the Hard Drive starts the computer (something like that), which means all the data I have on it is still intact. The bad news is I need to get a new Hard Drive and transfer the data from the infected one to the new one. Normally this process would take a day, but there is a winter storm coming to my area tonight which last for 3 days. This will prevent me from doing any hard core analysis on Colony, so what I will be doing is making a hard-copy of the guide (handwritten) with the data I have printed out (not much). This might be my last post for 2 weeks becuase my iPod is about to die (my current way of posting), so good luck and have fun.
P.S. I have Finals this week which might not happen due to the approaching winter storm.
