A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Branching as flora--
the labyrinth's end, held secret.
Life: profound journey.

Believed to be naught,
A myth; but I remember,
For I strayed on it.

That's only 6 syllables

Towards (2) The (1) Destination (4). That's, *GASP!*... 7 syllables!

The site obviously has a glitch.

Unless you pronounce 'towards' with one syllable, like some of us do.

But it's 2 syllables. See.

I'm judge, so MajicTree's poem is accepted for judging. End of story.

That's 8 syllables.

I pronounce labyrinth as 2 sometimes with they y silent. The site I posted earlier also says it's 2. I guess it's dialect and preference but whatev.

Unlike Mav, I like judging the day after the deadline

You ungrateful little...

*angrily writes haiku*

Cast out by the world,
No one here to wipe my tears,
Emotions erupt.

Like I said before, yes.

If you pronounce words with different syllables from your accent or just the way you speak, point it out, and I'll accept it. This is only to a limit though. Antidisestablishmentarianism isn't 2 syllables anywhere.
