A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

The breath of angles,
Ever eluting the people,
It can not be caught.

Floating hopelessly,
I see her in the distance:
The pursuit begins.

Ok my turn to win! XD

I run across skies,
In a daring pursuit,
following the wind.

Oh yeah, I feel confident!

In a daring pursuit,

That's 6 syllables.

Ever eluting the people,

That is 8 syllables.

Just note, I can not judge any poem until it is a proper haiku. 5-7-5.

oh sorry i say eluting with 2 syllables no big deal il just change it:

The breath of angles,
Ever eluting people,
It can not be caught.

Well, this is just another example of * how bad the American education system is.

*'the' was not needed.

A gust lifts my skirt-
I turn to protest; vanished.
I never loved him.

Kamikaze pilots count right?

A last sip of wine,
Chilling winds scream past my life,
My flame flickers out.

Stuck in the doldrums,
No gust to propel my sail.
To survive, I dive.

Your ideas of being stuck somewhere and relying on swimming to survive are both very original concepts. :P
