A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Softly descending;
They blanket the earth below,
And become as one.

And become as one.

This line seems to be a bit funny. I'm sure you mean And became one, but threw in an "as". I'd change it if I were you. That's all.

I like Acmed's Unicorn.

Here's my Haiku.

Beep. He'd never seen snow.
One last breath. Flicker, Death. Beep.
Angels fall. Silence.

This line seems to be a bit funny.

Yeah I was blanking at the time.

Softly descending,
They blanket the earth below:
Many become one.

Ten stories I plunged,
blue sky to be my last sight.
Then they came like snow...

Angles gently sob
and a hush falls upon us
as their tears float down

Angles

I suppose you mean Angels. Angles are a math term.

Silent screams of death
Their gray tears immortalized
Eternal torture

I'm baaaacccckkkk! It's been....forever! Literally. I can't remember the last time I was even on this site.
Well...I'm not very good at idle chit-chat, so, assuming I don't post again before the holidays, Merry Christmas!

Must have your poems in by tomorrow. If not, they won't count.

So, turn it in by 11:59 p.m Monday.

Rippling, changing
Quietly sleeping, dreaming.
Reflecting the truth.

Outside the window,
A blizzard batters the panes:
Angels turned demons.
