A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Faint tune, arctic sonata;
A song of silence

Ahhhhhh there are a lot of entries....

Penguins are gliding
Through the treacherous waters
Almost like flying.

._.

Good luck, little haiku! I send you off in the hopes of you returning with bounty! Or at least a good review..

But someday the sun will rise
Night, snow, melt away

Good God, the number of submissions has increased insanely since I last was a judge...I'm glad about that decision we took of judging alternaticely Ernie.

Used to take me 4 hours, now I'm hypothetizing it will further up to 7 or 8.

Sleep tonight? Perish the thought Fallen, perish the thought...

The submission count is exactly 30 if counted correctly.

heres a thought, judge as u go, rate as they appear, catalogue, and of those that dont meet a certain lv eliminate them, only the highest are kept and then continue to do so in this manner, by higher i mean the haikus with the highest rating 1-5 or 1-10... something like that..... instead of all at once..

Haikus are easy.
But sometimes they don't make sense.

Darn my first verse is 6 syllables, so let's change it to "The African heat"

So that would be:

The African heat
Would be desired in this
Freezing arctic snow.

they don't give up easy.
