A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
Well, that said, heres the rules:
1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)! 2) It must fit the weeks theme 3) It must be submitted before the deadline 4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written) 5) One Submission per user 6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)
Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...
The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond
Unless you guys wouldn't mind this getting judged on Saturday, I'm open to a ***qualified*** individual taking up the helm this time. I will request that the new topic and deadline is not given; I've had something planned for awhile now.
Just played four hours of paintball, and I think I'm getting the flu. However, I promised the judging, so this pathetic attempt at it is what you get. I'll just write the top five, and the winners.
If anyone would like a critique of their haiku, message me the haiku and state so on my profile. Messages without a haiku will not be responded to.
Again, I apologize, but I'm really not feeling good. __________ 5) 1337Player 4) Dair5 3) Acmed 2) Freakenstein 1) Hahiha
Congratulations Hahiha! Please contact a moderator or administrator for your merit.
This round will be something special. For various reasons, I've decided to retire from judging the contest. That being said, I will be judging this round much more strictly than rounds previous. I'll be looking for the immaculate haiku, and also a previous record of immaculacy. The first place winner will be offered the spot, and if they decline, second, third, etc.
To help level the playing field, the new theme will be broad. Very broad. In fact, the new theme is Nature. Anything and everything that relates to nature is fair game: Waterfalls, birds, trees, and dirt. The deadline is October 4th.
