A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

The suspense begins...

Here I begin. First, I'm just going to announce the winners, and in a later post go through everyone elses. (sadly I have to leave my entry out, but oh well)

4th place, also know as bronze: Teeheegirl

Water controls me
My eyes close for the last time
My soul swims away

I like how it offers a more spectral view on water, which is a bit meaningful, but a little hard to decipher. Overall very good. (that must get old, lol)

3rd, which is silver, of course: Kyouzou

Controlling all lives
Drowning, Destroying, Killing
Everyone shall die

It employs the view of waters extremely destructive tendencies, which is not unique, but the way you wrote it is. All in all, awesome.

2nd, gold: Freakenstein

Grace and fear inside,
Calm and deadly: everything.
Water controls all.

I like how it uses grace with power at the same time, using exactly what water is: Graceful but deadly. Excellent.

1st, Platinum/Waterlord: Ernie

Waves as high as clouds
Crashing down on enemies
Drenching evil ways

I don't know why, but when I first read this it popped out. This one is great, the best of the bunch, but admittedly not by much. Water does drench everything, including evil, if you look at it that way.

New theme was my original theme (which I posted quite a while ago, my friends): Light

The deadline isn't this Saturday, but next. You have a week and a half to complete it, so think about the haiku before you post it!

And of course, good luck!

Sorry. I can't make everyone in the top four. I would if I could, I assure you.

Think of it this way: I can't even judge my own entry.

So mine won't ever place.

It was. So was everyone's. It's a bit hard for me to judge.

So, what did you think of mine? I thought it was probably my best.

hahaha this was probably the highest I could get since I won the last one. People would start hating me if I won this one too XD

But that was weird. The one that won I didn't find on the thread, but then I searched and it was there O_o

Saturated warmth.
The cradle of life doth spake,
"do not be afraid".

Light is very bright
Look straight at it, hurt your eyes
Get some common sense

I can't win anyway, so I don't have to worry about how "good" my poem is.

You may get a "no $h17" award for that haiku, so you may win something if Dudeguy feels the same way about it! That and it talks about how powerful light is

The spectral wave comes
I see, my eyes are melting
Oblivion flies forth

Ahhhh, too bad, I didn't make it into the top 4... I guess my next poem will have to be supa-dupa.

I'm going to think a bit before posting my haiku. Can you at least tell me what you didn't like about it? And flaws in it (Other than I posted it thrice).
