A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

I would check with KingRyan and Cenere, they're likely to know considering the sheer amount of time they've spent here. Knight and Ernie are also good possibilities.

Shock, we could just reopen those old accounts if their owners are still around. Not sure who managed them in the first place though.

Should we just make a different thread for the recognition? Might be easier...

Knight doesn't get on much. So does Ryan.

A thread would be easier I guess. Woe befall us if the manager of the account leaves the site and doesn't pass on his password.

Who don't one of the judges make one and then inform the other two as to the password, and then if one of them decides to quit, a new judge can simply be told of the password. That way at any given time, at least three people would be aware of the password.

*totally mean "why" not "who".

Also, if there's a problem with having someone who is no longer a judge know the password, it could simply be changed.

Problem is an account requires an email. Unless one of then creates a new account. In any case a sticky would be more visible and celebrated.

I do have an account that I don't use anymore. You can do that on my profile, but I need the list of winners and probably their Haikus.

Because private chat doesn't exist so it could get hacked from someone reading comments.

Acmed created a chatroom some time ago that has a private chat. You guys could go there and get the password.

???

Welcome to the Haiku Contest. We are currently deliberating some technical details on how to reward contest winners, but feel free to post a theme-based Haiku as this round ends tonight at midnight (AG time).

I'm assuming you all have e-mails addresses? Or if you wish to retain privacy, you could simply go through Xat which offers private chats for all users regardless of whether or not you have an account.

Sounds like a good idea so far. Shall I make the official account then? Any objections?

A thread would be easier. There is no point in making a new account. It would just be a waste of time.

There is no point in making a new account.

In case merits come back new winners could receive them there. Also, with a thread unnecessary posts will only get deleted if you report them; on a profile the owners can delete them.
