A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Our is one syllable for the Commonwealth world. Which takes up the majority of English speakers.

Fine, I'll change it then.

Give him your burdens
He's an eternal soul mate
He farms alongside

I don't know anyone who pronounces "our" with one syllable. I can't even imagine how it would sound.

He's an eternal soul mate

Either this is to be spoken with an Australian accent, or soulmate should be one word.

are we allowed multiple entries?

No. You can make as many poems as you want, but only one per user can be submitted for judging. If you make more than one, be sure to note which one is your official entry.

Google and MS Word spell-check says otherwise. Besides, it really doesn't matter, as this is measured in syllables and not words.

I'm fine with it, but I'm not sure how acmed will respond.

Poorly, in all likelihood, given how he has a history to use every opportunity as haiku judge to give me a gag critique.

I'm guessing this one will involve AIDs, or homosexuality. Perhaps a lovely combination of both.

Kind of sounds like owl except without the "L" and a slight emphasis on the "R". At least that's how I say it. Think of when people say "Ow" and add a slight "R" but don't make it sound as if it's another syllable. Kind of hard to explain. :/

Oh, and in the dictionary it is 2 so I don't know why you changed it.

Nitpicking annoys me, so I changed it to avoid any problems later.
