A Haiku is a Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.

Well, that said, heres the rules:

1) The Haiku must be original (no plagarizing)!
2) It must fit the weeks theme
3) It must be submitted before the deadline
4) It must be submitted for the contest (no using works previously written)
5) One Submission per user
6) The Same User cannot win twice in a row (but there welcome to submit!)

Hopefully oneday the winner could get a merit...

The Deadline will always be a Wednsday, so the deadline for the first theme will be Wednsday, September 2. The theme is The Pond

Clamor in the clouds
Currents of discord rising
Tumult joy, sadness

Emotional weather is still weather, especially when described like that atmospheric phenomena.

The symbolism in this one is meh.

Peering out the glass,
I saw the culmination...
Governed sedition.

Kept wanting to do something with emotion.

Is the theme still Haven?

If so:

Point Six Square Mile City
In Reno County, Kansas.
One Thousand People.

LOL. And now you know a little something about Haven, haha :P

If not: erm? (sad face)

KingLemon, the theme is now "weather". I've notified a mod of the new change, but it has been Haven for three contests in a row! It should be changed shortly.

Official Entry:

Climbing higher still,
My limbs grow numb as I rest.
Another is claimed.

Unofficial Entry:

The cold wind howling
"Come out and play with me friend."
HA! Only a fool.

Apologize for the below, i'm just curious >_>
test?

The rain pounds so hard,
The lightning lights up the room,
The storms instill fear.

Thank you. I find reading the English language to be easier way than to write it. I have to admit that I used a here translator when I wrote this poem. But it still was difficult. I had to write the Haiku, and then read it to make that sure the translator did it's job correctly. Then I had to put it through the syllable counter to make sure that it was right. It was not easy but I tried my hardest. I am surprised I even made a correct one. Let alone one that is moderately well.

See? You're getting it! You're doing a much better job than you or the jerks are giving credit for. Looking forward to another one of your haikus someday!

@KingLemon: Nice haikus, but when it comes judging day, I will only enter your official entry. Better make your decision before next Thursday!

@Freakenstein
Yes i am aware. That is why i put official and unofficial...I can explain the first one if you can't see how it's related to weather >_>.

*Traditionnal entry*

Footprints on the snow,
Love games in the grass; life and
Seasons are alike

Here's what a former judge has to offer.
Haikus are made to be simple, light hearted and natural poems yet a little esoteric so here you go ^^.
That's my idea of a traditionnal Haiku.

Hello all. Frank judged, Hooray.

It is time for me to put in an entry for weather. Because I know that if I don't I never will and I will be mad at myself for being forgetful.

I watch closely as
the blaze spreads across the field.
The heat was too much.

@Fallen That is an unbelievably great Haiku. I love it. I think we are going to have to cut you off so others can get a chance :P JK

I don't think so, there are plenty of poets at least as good as me here, but thanks for the compliment anyway ^^.

Oh, and since I always forgot as a judge, here's for you: Happy Haikuing!

Canadians talk
About the weather a lot.
It's what we do, eh?
