Okay I am a christian and I believe in God . I don't think that Earth is the only life-filled planet in the universe . What do you guys think ? Can there be other planets like Earth in the galaxy ? I only think so , not really sure of what to believe . I got a bit of a pain in the head thinking of all the possibilities .

Of course, haven't you seen District 9? xD

But it has been proven that there is other life in our solar system. Even if it's only bacteria on Mars, it still counts as life...

Well ther are 80 billi galaxies in the known universe... an average glaxy as 400 billion stars... and there could be dozens of planets going round each one. So I think it is pretty likely there is life out there; somewhere but I don't believe any aliens have visited EArth yet the distances are just too big even the closest star to the sun is 4.3 light years away.

Pixie nailed it on the head. We even have some reason to believe there may be life on other planets/moons in our own solar system. Chances are, there's more out there somewhere. Do we know for sure? Nah. Is it probable? Yes.

Just to get a bit better perspective of this using Pixies figures. If only 1 out of every 1000 stars had a life supporting planet, and out of those only 1 out of every 1000 has more then just basic single celled life, and out of those only 1 out of every 1000 has intelligent life comparable to humans. Now just for the sake of argument we will say only 1 out of every 1000 galaxies have life supporting planets, most likely this would be higher but this would mean there would be roughly 32,000,000,000 life supporting planets in the universe with intelligent life comparable to humans.

Are we really expected to belive that we are the only living things in a galaxy that goes on for god knows how long? the only confusing thing is that if the universe ends what goes on beyond the end. i gave my self a head ache trying to think about how long the galaxy is. speaking of which,...... ow.

Probably there is life in space, but I personally believe that we will not ever have a close encounter with any of these extraterrestrial beings. Probably the aliens are too far away, so we would have to travel for centuries even with the speed of light to meet them.

Because it's not exactly that east =P

And because if we did that we might start to notice all the havoc we've wreaked on our oceans.

Because we are not Gungans, atlantians, or in affiliation with Cobra?

But yeah, it is probable that there's life out there. Would be really cool, too. Y'know, as long as the tripods don't come :P

I believe that there is an identical universe to the Milky Way. I don't think that there is any different kind of universe with different people.

Hey, buddy, I think you mean galaxy. The term universe is used on a much larger scale. And it's been proven that there are other galaxies, too. Andromeda, for one. Plus, isn't that kinda closed-minded, thinking that no sentient race could be dissimilar to humans?
