If God were to exist, would he be the one who created all of the other life in the universe? Does Jesus love some aliens in another galaxy like he is supposed to love all of us here on Earth? I want to hear from anyone who has something to say on this matter.
If other life is proven to exist on other planets, especially intelligent life, it undermines most holy texts. It doesn't disprove the existence of a God, but it would certainly puts paid to the Christian/Islamic/Jewish version.

It would probably have the same affect as discovering Earth wasn't the century of the universe, back in the 18th century. People would start turning less to religion to solve their problems.

I thiink that this would be of more significance. Fundamentalists and creationists and their juvenile refusal to think critically dismiss the theories of science regarding the solar system. The existence of a completely separate race would #1, be impossible to refute and #2, be an even bigger contradiction of holy texts. The implications of 'God' having created other planets with intelligent life, perhaps more advanced than we, when you consider the content of the Bible, claiming humans were made in the image of God etc., are simply staggering.
This thread is very similar to another one on this page (at least right now). If you guys want it to stay open, we should focus on a unique problem. So, would the existence of other life make humans less "special"? Just to make this interesting, let's assume there is a God and that He did create life on other planets. What would this entail for humanity's cosmological place?
If other life exists and God exists too, the other life would have been created by God also as humans. BUT if an other life was created we would cease being unique. We think that we are special and that we are here for a purpose. We think that this God is only ours and deals only with our problems, but this would be now incorrect and the result would be that God does not love as that much, cause like the little children all humans like being loved by their father and not sharing his love. Also we could thing for other life exists also other God. But this again would not make it happen and it would create many questions. So when/IF we will find other life I am certain that many of our religion's aspects would change.
Man has, as it were, become a kind of prosthetic God. When he puts on all his auxiliary organs, he is truly magnificent; but those organs have not grown on him and they still give him much trouble at times. Sigmund Freud
To me god doesn't exist until I die and live another life, I'm just going to enjoy this one until it ends, I'm healthy and haven't got drug or alcohol problems (xD at 12 years I'm a drug addict, lol)
what if there are more than one god cos the bible kinda contradicts that it says that there is only one god and suddenly god sends his only and godly son to help/save earth frm eternal sin,and suddenly mary has a church named after her
ima young next-generation catholic and dont have some religous class,so can someone explain what it means?
FOr me its not if there is life on other planets, its if we are the first here. Adam and Eve were the first people but what if the Earth has been recycled and we are not the first to use it.
