Turn on hitbox in the option menu. If a bullets touches the circle you are scraping, if it hits the red dot you get hurt.
How iz that funny?
Because you are posting your opinion on a game you barely played....
Which upgrades should I go for?
Get all the money upgrades first. Then play until you fully upgraded your weapon and wingmen. Then get upgrades for adrenaline, power-ups, or other things that you like.

Wait what?

Dangit, I just lost the game...

Be more specific. What money upgrades? Which weapon, which wingmen? What do YOU like?
Go to options menu (or something, maybe it was another menu) and turn on the hitbox. It will show a red circle around your ship with a big red dot inside. Anything bullet that touches that red dot will damage you. Any bullet that touches the circle (but not the dot) will scrape and increase tension.

You're no good at this are you? ;(

There are 3 money upgrades. The one that increases the chance of money value, the one that absorbs money, and the one that gives you money per combo (I'm not sure if this is any good). Then you should get whatever weapon you want maxed (I prefer the second one). For wingmen I prefer level 4 missile upgrades.
What do YOU like?
For the rest of the upgrades, you decide. There's a lot to choose from that are good. Have you unlocked the last row of upgrades?

So it's sort of dangerous to do it? I'll stick with close kill.

Nup.

Classic weapon? And keep your missle at level 4? For the rest of the upgrades, you decide. There's a lot to choose from that are good. Have you unlocked the last row of upgrades?

It's pretty easy if you use a good mouse (unlike me D=)

That's what I do.
I've unlocked 3/5 for the last row.
The only one I find useful is the one that gives you power-ups when you max tension. The first one is good if you are trying to beat a level unharmed. The second one is good if you never use adrenaline (the big blue bar on the right). And I have never used the other 2 that I haven't mentioned.
I beat all three episodes on Frantic with my laptop's touch-pad. I'm sure your mouse isn't that bad.
Just keep playing it. I've played it enough to unlock every achievement (except the highest combo one, grrr.....) and it didn't take me too long to get accustomed to the game-play.
Those are power-ups, they make the weapon better. If you look under th blue adrenaline bar you will find 3 different colored bars. When you collect power-ups those bars go up. If all the bars reach the line (the line depends on your weapon level) then the weapon will be better.
For example: The original weapon will get faster, have more shots, and spread more if you collect all the power-ups.
Multiplier x 100 wasn't too bad. Just choose medium (not easy, there won't be enough bullets to scrape) and focus on that. Don't pay attention to anything else.
The only time I got a combo higher than 70 was on endurance, so it didn't count

Yea, but I wouldn't go for tension gaining. A little risky.
