The level of contests in the forums is rising rapidly, but it can take days, maybe weeks, to notify a mod and ask for a merit prize, then it can take a few more weeks just to receive that prize. But that shouldn't be the way contests should be.

I think that there should be a seperate branch in the AG staff devoted completely to contest moderation, since we don't get very much of it.

Contest mods CAN:
-Only moderate threads that they or other contest mods create.
-Award merit prizes to winners of contests created by contest mods.
-Only create contests that are worth the prize and actually take skill to win.
-Type in a different color than green or blue or standard black.
-Create contests in any section they like.

Contest Mods CANNOT:
-Ban People.
-Stick Threads.
-Abuse their power.
-Moderate in threads not made by other contest mods.

Just a little idea I came up with. I'm sure it's already been suggested, but I didn't really look. What do you guys think?

And feel free to alter any of the things I said if they don't seem right. Like I say, it's merely a thought.

Well, for one, this one has a bit more of a purpose than a mini-mod. And there's actually a context.

HOW?

Oh oh should should it it,, now now??

You(I'm talking about you)can be optimistic but hiding from the truth is just....*looks for adjective*

Again with the Negative Nancy! Alas, some things should change.

Lol. ok.

Yes I know what an incentive is. But you don't need an incentive to have a good contest.

If people don't have an incentive, they won't be motivated to take the contest seriously.

I'll admit that is true.

Did you even read the quote I replied to? O.o?

Yes I did, have you?

It doesn't fail until it fails officially, and it hasn't done that yet.

But you don't need an incentive to have a good contest.

That can be true, but incentives make contests better.

Well, they don't have merit prizes. I thought you would know that. That's why I wasn't "Being clear!!!"

Notice how many more people compete in the ASC than the Pokemon contest...

Notice how not everyone is interested in Pokemon, while the ASC is a broader topic...

Then that would just mean that the Pokemon contest is more deserving of a merit than the ASC!

What is the difference?

The people that compete in the Pokemon and Fakemon competitions enter for fun.

No merit, but still over 6 entries each round.
Not too mention, ASC has been around longer so it's more known. Also, it's Stickied.

honestly idk why everyone is makeing such a big deal over it... i agree with the idea but we also need more regualar moderators then to... since all the reg mods cant handle the contests and spam and stuff then i think that we need that fixed...

also, its a fair enough idea to be considerd by an admin good idea ernie!

No... you said the Pokemon contest is more deserving of a merit than the ASC. Your above quote has nothing to do with what you said:

It would mean more people would participate in those contests, because everyone knows pokemon at least a little, and they would be able to participate even though they don't like it, but deep inside they do.

And ASC is just text-based pictures. No big deal.
