Ok, I LOVE the armorgames setup (it really is a great site for gamers and game makers), but the advertisements lately have been... frankly... rather 'sketchy'. And what I mean by that is a woman holding a bow, facing the camera, 90% naked ( and rather... you know); or a woman lying down, with the caption "save the kingdom" or something of that nature, with a her... (!'s) obviously on display for the "Reccommended target audience" I don't know if this is just local targeting in my area, or for all users on ArmorGames... but its really awkward playing a game like Stickwars or Crush the Castle, and my mom wonders into the room... (can you tell where this talk went?) -_-
Those are just definitions of cliche, terrible flash MMOs. I wouldn't pay attention to them, if I were you.
Even though this is not a world event, it should be, so we can pass legislation to ban amateur internet games and save all of us the trouble of wasting lives.
Well, advertisers are just hitting their main market. Most videogamers are men. Put boobs on an advertisement, and you've already gained the attention of a vast majority of AG users.
I actually hadn't even noticed the advertisements you're referring to. Although, I would assume there is no way around them. Perhaps in order to relieve the stress caused in a situation with your mother, just be up front with her and say "mom i just want to let you know that the lady on the screen who is scantily clad is just part of an advertisement. I was in no way seeking her out, she just happens to be on the same page as the game I'm playing." problem solved
gos bless firefox and adblock+. i surf all the internet without even seeing a single ad. it makes life so much more comfy and i dont have to wate time about thinking why someone did an ad or not
Image block helps too, but that can kinda get a little weighted too much. Block something from armorgames, and the rest go as well... good thing you can unblock them, or I'd never see these avatars ;-)
