While I agree he's been out of control, misrepresenting the law annoys me even more.
1) Sexual Harassment
Is a type of law that if I am not mistaken deals with the workplace. Unless we're all being paid, and feel that AG is pressuring us to deal with him, it's not sexual harassment as defined by the law. And even if it was, it would the company (AG in this case) who could face litigation.
2) (Assuming he's under 18) Viewing Pornographic Material
The Child Online Protection Act was struck down as unconstitutional, and as far as I've been told, was never enforced in court.
3) Harassment and Impersonation
As of this point in time I don't believe there is any specific law against what is considered 'online bullying' and the only time I've seen it prosecuted is when it's lead to a suicide.
4) Exposing Pornographic Material to Minors
Under the same category as number 2 here.
Just a few. He's also violated the Terms and Conditions many a time, which is also illegal. That's a legal document.
The terms and conditions of this site, like EULA and similar software/website contracts are at best considered civil contracts. While breaching them could result in action being taken in civil court, it does not violate any governmental law and would not be prosecuted as a crime. Furthermore, since it would be nearly impossible to prove economic damages through his actions (so far as I've seen them) there is very little likelihood that AG would be awarded a settlement. Which means they would take him to court, and then be stuck with their own legal expenses.
Dum de dum dum... some of these posts might not make sense but you know, move along, nothing to see here.
Now where were we? Oh yeah, Excelsior called themselves a troll but that doesn't stop us from having a constructive discussion (or yelling match, your pick) on the finer points of interpreting the healthcare bill, right?
Prove they are blatant lies. (I dont mean to sound stuck up I just want to know why they have been stated as blatant lies. I need some evidence even as why they are called blatant lies.)
An explanation . . . including living wills and durable powers of attorney . . .
LIVING WILL: This is a written document that specifies what types of medical treatment are desired. A living will can be very specific or very general.
The most common statement in a living will is to the effect that: If I suffer an incurable, irreversible illness, disease, or condition and my attending physician determines that my condition is terminal, I direct that life-sustaining measures that would serve only to prolong my dying be withheld or discontinued.
More specific living wills may include information regarding an individual's desire for such services such as analgesia (pain relief), antibiotics, hydration, feeding, and the use of ventilators or cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
So if you dont have a living will some doctor just pulls the plug on you?
In the interest of fairness, I'm going to go through a few of the OP interpretations of the bill, and what the bill actually says.
Pg 30, Sec 123 of HC bill - THERE WILL BE A GOVT. COMMITTEE that decides what treatment you get.
Actual text: IN GENERAL.â"There is established a private-public advisory committee which shall be a panel of medical and other experts to be known as the Health Benefits Advisory Committee to recommend covered benefits and essential, enhanced, and premium plans. What it means: A panel will decide which procedures are covered by the plan. This is what any health insurance company today does. It does not define what "treatment" you can get. You can get any treatment you want. It only defines what is covered in the bill.
Pg 29, lines 4-16 - YOUR HEALTH CARE IS RATIONED!!!
Actual text: Such levels shall be increased (rounded to the nearest $100) for each subsequent year by the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index (United States city average). What is means: This is referring to cost-sharing (co-payments) and how much liability an individual can incur. It is basically, it seems, a deductible limit for a family - not a cap on how much they can get (perhaps I'm reading this wrong, though).
Pg 241, Line 6-8 - Doctors, it doesn't matter what specialty you have, you'll all be paid the same
Actual text: Service categories established under this paragraph shall apply without regard to the specialty of the physician furnishing the service. What it means: This has nothing at all to do with how much doctors get paid. Every insurance company has a code for procedures done to a patient for organizational purposes. There is no reference here to how much a doctor will get paid. This paragraph is also taken out of context. It is setting up the difference between preventative care and treatment - regardless of the doctor's specialty. This makes sense, since preventative care is just what it is - regardless of what kind of doctor you're seeing.
I'm not saying I'm behind the health care bill. But don't just take it for granted that someone's interpretations (even mine) are the correct ones. If you really are concerned, just Google the health care bill and sift through the 1,000+ pages for yourself.
Post a link to the actual bill. I would prefer to read the Bill on my own, rather than looking at some morons paranoid interpretation and opinion.
This sounds very misinterpreted, biased, and unrealistic, but i know some people will believe this, and that's why I get irritated when people put thing like this out to take advantage of the less educated people in our country....which most likely are the ones who need this sort of bill...its very ironic that those who needs this most end up being the most opposed to it.
How fast are they trying to push the bill through? It is over 1000 pages. Shouldn't a hole revamping of the health care system with a 1000 page bill be deliberated over for at least a year if not longer. Or its just cool to suddenly change things in the blink of an eye?
And hold up a second. I thought that this thread was started by someone else with more posts. Whats going on? (did I not notice that). Maybe this is just a fake thread.
