I like my music with every type of metal there is. Fucking Metallica is my favorite, after that comes Disturbed and System of a Down, but my friend is dragging me towards Motorhead as well.
What i dont understand is how people enjoy sh*t like Dr. Dre and the Whigger Eminem. Rap promotes drugs, prostituition, disrespect, and all that jazz. It's also horrible music and i cant understand what the hell they mean in their lyrics. At least in metal you dont have to understand the words cuz it's all about the music, not some guy who can't even sing.
Rap is an abomination to music. Whilst Metal offer's a large variety of bands, sub-genre's and fusion-genre's. Also I got three words for all of you which im sure you guys (and gals) hate: Norwegian Black Metal :3
Most people that hate rap are just ignorant and only have listened to that new hip hop crap. I hate that deep screaming metal where it sounds like the lead singer is giving birth. The older 80s and 90s rap and metal is the best. Personaly I enjoy both genres equally. They both have great and terrible bands.
I listen to both actually, all from The Red Jumpsuit to Raise against, Jay-z, 2puc. But old school rap is nice. And bands like Black Sabbath thats sometimes shows up on my iPod.
Metal is definitely better than rap. The songs usually have insane solos and good guitar parts through the song. The lyrics are good sometimes, but the beat and actual music matters more. Also for people arguing that rap or metal is better for what it promotes, they both don't usually promote good things. Yes metal can promote violence, sex, and drugs, but on the other hand so does rap and maybe even more than that. If you like/dislike one it should be because it isn't your style and not because they promote bad things. I like Black Sabbath, Obviously Metallica Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot and Rammstein. They all are pretty good and that is music I like
Metal. I dont particularly like it that much. cept death metal i like that. Just i hate rap so when comparing absolutely any music to rap the other one wins hands down. Maybe rap might win if its hilltop hoods (in my opinion the ONLY good rappers) but only if the other one is bad.

I don't really like Metal or Rap... Like some others said, I like the metal and rap from the late 80's early 90's. I also like metal-grungish bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana. If I were asked who is my favorite modern-day rapper, I would have to say Kanye. I know he's an a*shole, but his sounds are SWEET. The type of music I do really like is bands like the Aquabats, Weezer, Pearl Jam, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, etc. etc. etc. My favorite band is Weezer, though.
