I live in a hick town, with hickish rules. Were supposedly not "Aloud" to carry knives over 2 inches, but everyone just follows the "If the blade isnt longer than the width of your palm".
Weve had a few expulsions before, cause people like to show them off. If you look on a guys pocket, you will likely see the clip to your pants thing on the blade handle.
So what im asking is do you think this is okay? And whats the weapons rules at your school?
how the hell do you cut meat with a spork? I thought so.
I remember getting stuff that resembled meat in school. I also remember when ever the school had it's special mystery stew all the road kill in a three block radius would disappear.

I'm actually surprised they would allow any knives in your school. When I was in school any knife was regarded as a weapon. You could have plastic butter knives provided to you during lunch but it would have to be disposed of before leaving the lunch room.
No ones been hurt until you get called a redneck, and act like all rednecks and take everything too serious and straight up stab someone. Kids are stupid and impulsive and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near knives.
we all have the greatest weapons in our hands in school, maybe not as good as gunsd, but better than swords,we use them everyday, though we hate to use it,its called a pen/pencil
Sure, Lets all fit heavy giant sticks into our pockets?
As for you guys tellin' us way back when 300 years ago when you were in school and knives/weapons were a no-no -- He used the term hick town to say that thats sort of why he can keep a pocket knife.
Personally, Pocket Knife's can be quite dangerous, since whatever it is they can draw blood. The school might not have had a stabbing but I'm sure the town has, for that very reason. Not to mention if 2" Knives are the maximum at your school, then I'm sure longer ones are the maximum elsewhere in your town.
As for stabbing someone with a Pencil, its retarded. I think, if I can remember that far in 8th Grade some kid stabbed another with a pencil. He made his cheek bleed. Was not the prettiest of fights ... !
I carried one a lot in school, especially in high school and just graduated last year. Still carry one in college, just a habbit. Most people carry them and they don't cause any real problems so I wouldn't worry about it. Schools need to worry more about providing an education (something a lot of them are failing at) then simple little weapons and security issues. If someone wants to hurt someone, they'll find a way.
Man, we get criminal charges and usually expulsion when a knife is found on you. Zero tolerance. A buddy of mine got his car searched because a drug dog smelled something. They found a pocket knife he had forgotten about under the seat and he was suspended. No drugs or anything.
I think it makes everyone feel somewhat safer knowing they have a knife. I can see how things can escalate fast if there's a problem and somebody gets into a fight but at the same time I think that can deter most fights just from the fear of getting stabbed or cut. So basically I think it's okay as long as it's with in reason so I think the two inch rule is just fine.
2 Inch rule makes sense, but if two people have a knife, and two kids are really going to get at it -- You never know.
Also, The majority of America and European schools have a Zero tolerance. A friend of mine's mother borrowed his car -- She left beer in his car, he got suspended for it two days later.
I suppose seeing as the town is how it is, it needs its knives.
