Lmao i dont even know that xP Maybe the pokeballs have like memory chips inside them that breaks down the matter of the pokemon into the ball into its summoned again where the chip tells what pokemon to come out and that pokemon's matter gets put together and projected out of the ball. Thats what im guessing xD

Ash's original Japanese name is Satoshi, named after the creator of pokemon... I dunno about the English names, though, so you could be right about the translators picking his names like that.
