How do we handle terrorism? Not the way we currently are. What do all of you think?

Okay, you know that's not true. I mean, how hard would it be to put a sattelite over the suspected mountains and have it look for heat signatures resembling human ones, and we go investigate, really?

Uh, we don't even have that kind of technology, nor the money to spend to try and make it. Your being kind of ignorant here. Terrorism is something that really can' be eliminated. There will always be people with corrupted minds and ideas, free will allows it. You can't rid the world of terrorism.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US government has had that kind of tech for years by now. Anything they release to the public has been in use and pushed to the side for at least a decade.

By this rule of thumb, they've had meta-materials (which amount to basically an invisibility cloak) for prolly 10 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had technology like that - or at least a failed experiment trying to get it.

Your probably right. And did hear about that invisibility technology, but it only works in certain parameters.

Dude, we've had that kind of technology since the geinning of the Cold War.

My point is, if we had it, why haven't we used it? Why haven't we eliminated the most potent terrorist threats in the world? Answer that.

We do have the technology for heat sensing satellites. That's simple. Problem is the mountains are incredibly hot already so that may mess up the temp scan. Not to mention they could be inside caves.

You can't truly rid the world of terrorism, for as long as people have different opinions or ideologies then there will be 'terrorism'. Of course the countries the Americans invaded, well maybe they see America as no better. They really actually caused more pain.

True. Unfortunately, a lot of terrorism is based on religion and religious beliefs like Windshift said. Because religions have been around for ages, we can't very well rid a people of their customs now can we? For some, blowing up Federal buildings in foreign countries is the highest level of reverence to their good god Allah. Actually not really, but you get the idea.

Right . . . the stuff that they released to the public.

I wouldn't be surprised if they released an outdated version of the stuff to get people oohing and aahing.

@Kirby, So, here's a question. Why can't we use that invisibility technology, plus the technology that makes us invisible to radar, to make a sattellite that will be virtually invisible. Also, even if the mountains are hot, and they probably are in caves, all it takes is three-dimensional imagery to pinpoint them. GPS's can pinpoint up to three meters now, and that's the civillian ones! So really, not extremely hard. Just need one billion dollars behind it, aka 1/900th of one payment Bush got for the Iraq War.

What terrorism???

Terrorist \\Ter"ror*ist\\, n. [F. terroriste.]
1. One who governs by terrorism or intimidation;
specifically, an agent or partisan of the revolutionary
tribunal during the Reign of Terror in France. --Burke.
[1913 Webster]

2. One who commits terrorism[2].
