Everyone knows IGN is in it for the money, and rates games as such. Name a game that they totally failed at reviewing, and give the rating you think it ACTUALLY earned. Example: Darkest of Days IGN score: 4/10 My score: 7/10 I give this score since I beleive the game wasn't terrible. Sure it had some flaws, but the game was solid and IGN was way too harsh in their review, mostly because their BIASED and CORRUPT. But who isn't these days right?

What the world needs now is not a yes man, but someone willing to go against the demographic to succeed. I do enjoy how everyone shares my spite. However, can we please stay on topic. I wouldn't agree with IGN's score, but not yours either. Some of the bugs and the poor graphics took away some of the games experience, and the storyline was kinda confusing...
1. They are the opinion of ONE PERSON, and it should not affect how you choose games
It's the opinion of one man who has played an accumulative of more games than the population of AG combined. And who was hired to make unbiased opinions towards games in a fashion that shows people what the game is about so that they can make their own decisions.
2. Most of the sponsors are paying to smear or support a game, and the reviewers do give scores as such
No they don't. That's what the entire gamespot scandal was about and they were called out on it. Companies who do that get in a ton of shit.

On topic: Game reviews shouldn't be taken at face value. They're there to point things out, and ultimately it's up to the individual gamer to decide if they like a game or not. A game that gets poor ratings shouldn't snuff out all interest in that particular game.

I have to agree with Klaus. . . . The people whom have rated these games have been hired to do exactly that. They have played so many games that they excel to a massive company for games (like IGN) and can take in all the criteria a good game needs and judge what was accomplished in the game; these guys are not casual gamers. Blindly accusing them of giving a poor rating based on their opinion to whether the targets set to make a good game have been met is plain ignorant. Although these people are NOT perfect, they have been hired with pure expertise to represent what they thought of the game.
I do respect your opinion: I can understand that you feel a game was not rated as high as it should: sometimes I feel like that. In my opinion Unreal Tournament [99] should have been rated higher than it was, but these people are experts, and they have their own opinions, although I am not going to change my entire opinion based on theirs, I am not going to say their rating is completely wrong, flawed and required to be changed. To be quite frank their opinion is probably a lot more thoughtful than mine because they HAVE to look into every aspect of this game and see how good each individual part is to construct a complete rating for the game.
You have your opinion, they have theirs: they are trained, taught, given criteria, and have probably opened more install disk cases than you have seen.
Yep Klaus. I'm often a hypocrite, and I am damn proud of it. The people that review these games are experts; I never questioned their experience with games. What I do question is their integrity with which they review it.

Anyway, tom, the reviews from IGN aren't flawed because they're opinion-based. The opinion presented in something opinion-based cannot be flawed because it's an opinion.
so really, it's not the review that's flawed, but your perception of their standpoint, their prerogative, and this situation as a whole.
