Halo Combat Evolved is the only Halo game that I'm good at. I'm okay at Reach, but I am terrible at Two and Three. I hated the Reach campaign, but i like the multiplayer and the forge. Even though there's no Xbox live, I will never get tired of Halo 1 and it's compelling plot.
You could only play with your friends though, which is not real multiplayer. Thats pretty much split screen, that game was just as good as if it was offline.
The only reason I find halo fun is the multiplayer and online play. For me I don't care for the one player too much. On halo and halo 2 I liked the story line, but not for the newer ones.
ODST to me wasn't all that great. Sure, it was appealing because Master Chief had just finished saving the Earth from Halo 3. So, many fans bought the game and thought it was pretty cool not fighting as Chief and starting a whole new story, yet it was going on the same time Halo 2 or 3 was. Of course, Bungie hadn't made a new multiplayer mode for ODST and borrowed from Halo 3 and slabbed it onto a separate, second disk. Then, before ya know it, everyone has quit playing ODST and Halo 3 because.... Gasp! Reach came out! I have to admit, Reach was probably the best game Bungie made. Ok, so maybe Halo 3 was their best game. But, Reach was amazing with the new Forge modes and an entirely new Campaign and storyline with astounding characters and drama. Action developed well into Reach's Campaign and many fans enjoyed this. Graphics on Halo: Reach were the best ever out of the Halo series I think. Matchmaking Multiplayer on LIVE is really transformed from Halo 3's. Also, the landscape throughout the entire game really wow-ed the fans. Forge World was outstandingly breath-taking with luscious views with high cliffs and mountain peaks just touching the blue sky upon a precarious Halo. Canyons and islands lined the map with beautiful details. Not only was Forge World great, but so were a lot of mission levels in the Campaign. For instance, the planet Reach looked like something out of the movie "Avatar" with its mystifying landscape of dark green shades and plants scattered about the area with wild animals of unseen species. Not only was the landscape and details wonderful, but all the new weapons and equipment. New vehicles were developed and many new weapons were created, The strange thing is that in the actual time of the story, it takes place before Chief is even chosen for combat in Halo: CE. So why are there so many new things? My explanation to that is that this game really takes place on Reach and not on a Halo or on Earth. So maybe Earth and Halos didn't have these new weapons. But, in Reach you're not really fighting Prophets from destroying the Earth, but trying to conquer the Covenant and near the end of the story, deliver hope as they say. Overall to sum it up, Halo: Reach is one of the best Halo games created. Sorry for the inconvenience of this reply being so long. I just wanted to make a point and I kinda... got carried away. Anyways, bye.
Halo Reach did take away some weapons, not to mention duel weilding. But it did add some new ****** guns.(Plasma Launcher anyone?) One of the best new features though is armor custimization that's 100 times bigger than Halo 3's same feature. Invasion was also another amazing new thing in Reach. Overall, Reach is waaay better than Halo 3, or atleast in my opinion.
