My last thread here, "A question", was badly put together and I didn't get my point across.
Keep in mind that I think with a question, there should be a discussion as well. So let's dig in.
First off, this is a hypothetical.
If, hypothetically, there is absolutely no life after this one, would that put emphasis on making you want to keep your life, or give it away?
Why would we give away life if it's one in a kind and there's nothing that can go after it? Well, life can be terrible. I'm sure everyone has known that, and sometimes it's not always temporary. So, when life is not good for you, and there is nothing afterwards, why stay?
What I'm saying is, through an atheistic view, should you cherish life, or despise it?

Yes.
through an atheistic view, should you cherish life, or despise it?
Cherish. Plain and simple.
So, when life is not good for you, and there is nothing afterwards, why stay?
Why not stay?
I've found life is all about experiencing as many things as possible. As well as experiencing the highs, I would like to experience the lows. No matter how low they are.
Although through an atheistic view after death there is nothingness so life will have had no purpose, and the experiences become pointless without the ability to reflect on them...
If, hypothetically, there is absolutely no life after this one, would that put emphasis on making you want to keep your life, or give it away?
I believe in some sort of life after death, so it's hard to imagine what it would be like without that view. However, I think that I would cherish this life more. Knowing that nothing comes after it, and if I want to have fun, this is the only chance I get.
Well, life can be terrible.
In most cases though, it gets better. Whether you be depressed and get on medication, then eventually are free of the depression; or you are physically disabled and learn to live with the disability, life gets better.
If everyone gave up when the going got tough, where would humanity be today? We have to tough it out, and be optimistic that in the end we'll be happy. If you end your own life because of how miserable it is at the moment, you don't know what you could have missed out on.
or despise it?
Why should life be despised? For most adults I know, their life has been generally good. Life isn't just a hell hole that we all endure for no reason.
If, hypothetically, there is absolutely no life after this one, would that put emphasis on making you want to keep your life, or give it away?
keep it,its yours to keep,as you will live the rest of eternity unconscious, which is too boring, even unconscious

because something will be coming sooner or later, and hypothetically, nothing will come after death
What I'm saying is, through an atheistic view, should you cherish life, or despise it?
you dont have to cherish your life if you dont want to,but you can cherish the computer...
But if nothing comes after what's the point of it all?
then do something, get a hobby, like looking around(not snoop)...simple,might lead you to other things, and not to mention economical
last, you're 14,nothing comes around this years, unless you and your friends go to the movies, etc, etc
so wait for aprox 6yrs before jumping of a tower or something
i think a fly dont mind dying, and we're not asking a fly lol
Well if we or as in my example a fly minds it or not really isn't the question. The question was what's the point. I just figured we might be able to get a little better perspective on that question from looking at it from the point of view of a creature with a much shorter life span then our own.
The bad things are only temporary, you may feel sad and depressed, but if you think well good things happen too and you could be worst. Always look the bright side of life. Life is not to be wasted.
