Alright, all over the news today people have been making a big fuss over Chicago not being picked to host the 2016 Olympics.

If you didn't know, Chicago tried to press their American power on the Olympic committee. They had speeches by the President, his wife, and Oprah for some reason...
Anyway, everyone in Chicago thought they were a shoe in, but they got eliminated in the first voting round. The "winner" was Rio de Janeiro, the first time a city from South America was chosen.

So what are your thoughts? Are you pissed about Chicago not getting picked? Or maybe happy for Rio? Don't Care?

Me personally, I think it is funny how they are making such a big deal about it, the US has already hosted the Olympics quite a few times. It's funny how they thought having Pres. Obama speak would make the commitee pick Chicago. I realize not all of you on AG aren't American, but I'm sure you could still add to this.

My question is unrelated to Rio:

WHY IN THE LIVING F*** IS OBAMA IN DENMARK WHEN HE SHOULD BE MANAGING OUT GODDAM* COUNTRY?!?!?!?!?!

As you can clearly see by Figure 1, I'm pissed. I've never been a big fan of Obama, but seriously, why is he overseas dealing with something COMPLETELY unrelated to anything that needs to be done?!

And Congrats to Rio.

Now you know what our NBC morning shows are like everyday -.-

I can see that must have been annoying. . . .

Well, I'm sure it must have been somewhat nice, but seriously, our president has better things to do then take meaningless trips to Europe.

It's called diplomacy. Contact and friendly relations with other countries is necessary in a world where you are only 1 country out of 192?

You have to at least appear worldly.

And the day before everyone was going 'squiee!' over the Oprah woman... I facepalmed at the Danish media.

I bet he has. Too much of a fuss about this, and he couldn't turn the votes anyway.
Jeez, it is not that important, and not only is there two Olympic games (summer/winter), no one really do care about it anyway....

You have to at least appear worldly.

Our last Premier Minister was a sucker for Bush > >....

Thanks for the late info, Bronze -.-

Also, still, foreign relations are NOT going to help us out of the sh*tter. He can make all the meaningless trips he wants when he gets us out of this crap hole we're in.

I know it is only remotely related, but:
'Obama delays 41 air planes'.
'Chicago first out of the race: Obama-camp deeply disappointed'.
'43 arrested during Obama's visit'.

D8< What a president you got yourselves!

And I can only find info about Mrs. Obama visiting our queen for the lulz.

I find her to be a real biyatch, just by her facial expressions. . . .

Mrs. Obama of course, not your queen.

Weakened foreign relations/ reduces ability to broker trading deals which reduces imports which slows growth.

And it's not Obama's fault. It's the fact that Chicago is just a bad place to host the olympics compared to cities in the rest of the world.

Our economy isn't even close to reliant to Denmark's economy, though.

Denmark isn't the biggest country in the world. . . .

Um, I don't think that's anyone's concern on the matter >>.>>

ROAR!
... We were... > >

I think he was half way trying to sweet talk for the Olympic committee, and then say hi to Denmark, because "DK has had a strong relationship with the US for a long time"...
Because being friends with us... makes sure there are more soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Idk..

I might be wrong, but aren't Legos from Denmark? I would say that is pretty good for the economy.

But not anywhere near reliant. We could easily go without Legos tomorrow.

They might be good for a small portion of the economy, but it would take a week to get out of that.

Legos can't support an economy! That's like saying maple syrup supports the Canadian economy!
