Electronic for me please. No, not techno - electronic!

70's rock like Pink Floyd, Grunge, and some new stuff like Breaking Benjamin, 5FDP, and Skillet with alot of music in-between. Any type of rock, except 80's hairbands, hairbands are a no-no for me.

Here is my top 5 genres:
1. Classic Rock
I've always been a huge fan of all classic rock, probably since that's what my dad listens to and I've always liked the same kind of music as my dad.
2. American Alternative Rock
I emphasize the "American" because English alternative is just hard to listen to for very long, although I like Bush, and they're from the UK, and Radiohead has a few good songs.
3. Heavy Metal
I like some hair bands, like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns N Roses and Poison, and I'm a big fan of the old stuff: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio and Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
4. Punk
And I mean 70s punk, like Ramones, The Police, Sex Pistols, Stooges, The Clash, Talking Heads not that third-wave crap - although the Offspring are pretty good.
5. Stadium Rock

I like rock.
Like Skillet.

lol... let me just say this: my favorite oxymoron is alternative rock because there is no alternative to rock.

punk rock, alternative rock and a bit of alternative metal. There are a few good songs from other genders, but those are my fave ones

xxsneaky, there is no "most popular type of music", people's opinions change constantly, but if one was to put it into a genre, I'd say the most popular right now in the world is pop. just because of all the little kids in the world screaming for boy bands.

Personally, I like thrash, death, speed, and power metal, but mostly speed. And some traditional rock(AC/DC, those kinds) and tradition metal.

Melodic Death Metal. Also, some normal metal, rock, rap, hip hop, alternative, electronic.

My favorite genre of music is, THRASH METAL! But I love metal in general.

Difficult question. I really enjoy music, so with that, I have loads of favorites genres! Here are some of them: indie rock, hip hop, rap, progressive rock, house, samba, bossa nova, 80's rock, alternative jazz, reggae, R&B... Yeah, I'm very eclectic. =)

I like metal rock (etc) bands such as Avenged sevenfold metallica Green Day...

I think for me it's altrock. That's the best with indy bands )
