The war on terror is an unwinnable war, for both sides. On one side, we cannot locate them, on the other, they have not the manpower or power in general to take our country. It will always be a stalemate, especially now, with the world in a state where even the smallest countries are massive in scale to the old world where geurilla troops like Al Quaeda actually stood a chance of taking over.
i'm pretty sure Al Queda isn't trying to take over the USA, i thought their goal was to see the US fail in Aphganistan and Pakistan so that could of course happen. If the Generals get what they want for the USA we could possibly have thousands more soldiers in the Middle East so that was we may be able to find them..
Because the U.S. has not gone green yet, and with about 350+ million people living there, it takes a lot of oil and gas to pump the cars, and a lot of coal to power cities...
IMHO you can't really call it a war, in the overall meaning of the word, it's more of an extreme game of hide-and-seek, where the searching party is quite large but if they can't find the hiders in time, bad stuff happens...
If there would be a real, big war it would be over in minutes, depending on who launches their rockets first. Assuming the terrorists have them.
