This thread was inspired by a book I found called "The Book Of General Ignorance" by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson. Anyway, with that in mind feel free to post those facts you have been itching to tell people...

I would challenge this.... Inuktitut (the most common language of Inuit people has two words for snow only. However they add suffixes etc. onto root words to make more detailed explanations. For example their word "Uqaluraq" means a tongue-shaped snowdrift or "Tisilluqqaaq" means very hard snow. There are few words for snow but an almost limitless way to describe it. So depending on how you look at it there are either 2 or thousands.
