I just happen to think that those who are should have equal rights.
Unfortunately the religious groups do have a bit of a foot to stand on when not wanting gays to marry since marriage is a religious ceremony. However marriage also comes with a number of legal rights that comes with a marriage that you can't get from a civil union.
So there a several things that can be done here.
Since marriage is a religious ceremony, leave it as just that. Take the legal implications from marriage and give them to civil unions, then give everyone a civil union who is married. While in this situation gays still can't get married they will have equal rights in the eyes of the law.
If you don't want to do the above then the religious groups need to shut up and let gays get married, and don't give me that wanting to keep traditional marriage bs what marriage is now is not what could be considered traditional.
Yay stereotypes! Seriously though just because you've met some Christians that hate gays (who are part of the extreme minority) it doesn't mean we all do. Am I for gay marriage? No, not at all yet can I tell people what they can and can't do in private no I can't. With that view obviously I'm for repealing the law's against gay marriage. When you say Christians hate gays the fact it we hate the SIN not the PEOPLE. No I'm not being ignorant or old fashioned or against social progression I'm sharing my opinion which is in fact my RIGHT.

It should be illegal personally. No religion in the world agrees that gays are ok in gods eyes. Why should they be, sorry but it is against nature. I don't see any other organism in the world having relations with the same sex. Are we that sick? Personally I believe in Man marries Woman Have children, repeat.... Not Man marries Man adopts children then what? To weird for me I am in love with a beautiful woman and I have the time of my life every day never once have I had a gay thought or moment.... Face it people this is a choice they make not something they were born with.....Sorry to offend anyone but thats what I believe

Completely wrong. I would like to know at what point you decided to be heterosexual? Even if someone were to choose not to engage in homosexual act this wouldn't mean they don't have those feelings still. Homosexuals are hardwired to have an interest in members of the same gender just as you have interest in your beautiful woman. Can you imagine how you would feel if you were told that your relationship was vile and sick and you were denied legal rights that other loving couples can have on top of it all?
